Halloween Countdown

Day 8: Monster coloring and Witches broomsticks
They got creative making monster faces and Gwen loves poking the pretzels into the peanut butter cups.

Day 7: Mummy Braid
Tessa was my kitchen helper for dinner that day.
Day 6: Trunk or Treating
The kids were so excited to wear their Halloween costumes and go Trunk or Treating with some of their friends at church. We had so many comments on  our Frozen Family. Aunt Dee saved me and did an awesome job on Adam and Caleb's costumes!

Day 5: Pumpkin Carving!
For Family Home Evening, we carved our pumpkins. We had such a fun evening!!
Gwen telling us about her "Scary pumpkin". She shakes her whole body like she's trembling when she does this.

Day 5 was also Vampire doughnuts. Always a Halloween favorite around here.

Gwen's Shoes

Last week, Gwen pulled my pot lids out of the cupboard and wore them as shoes all morning.

Reading University Scholar

Tessa was so surprised on Wednesday morning when she heard her name called to receive the Reading University Award for her class. These awards are given to those students who have met and/or exceeded their reading goals for the month. Tessa was required to read 12 books in September and she read around 30 books. She has become an excellent reader and is currently in love with Amelia Bedelia books. We are so proud of our girl! Way to go, Tessa!!

Halloween Countdown

It's that time of year again! The kids are so excited for Halloween and we have been busy doing some of our favorite Halloween countdown activities.
Day 13: Go Booing
We had fun making up plates of sugar cookies and then leaving them on our friends and neighbors porches.
Day 12: Ghost feet and Halloween Bingo
The kids were laughing so hard because Eric kept making Caleb hide behind me and then rise like a ghost. Tessa thought it was hysterical!

Day 11: Chocolate Chip Ghost Story and Ghost Pudding
Gwen listened so intently to the story and kept whispering, "This is really spooky".

 They gobbled up their ghosts.
Day 10: Ghostly Shepherds Pie and Paper Pumpkins
Gwen was my dinner helper for the night. She got all the eyes on the ghostly mashed potatoes.

They each made a cute paper jack-o-lantern.
 Day 9: Mummy Dogs
Adam was my dinner helper and did a good job of making our Mummy Dogs.
