A Happy Easter

We had a very busy, but fun Easter weekend. Saturday morning we headed over to the park for an early morning Easter egg hunt here in Spanish Fork. It was a cold morning and kind of different hunting for eggs in the snow. Gwen finally got to wear her snow suit-even though it was April 7th.

Adam and Tessa all lined up and ready to take off.

Tessa didn't get very many eggs and Adam decided to share some of his with her. They each ended up with some candy and they each got a prize.

Tessa was excited to find some princesses at the egg hunt.
When we got home, Adam had a letter from Uncle David waiting for him.
We planted some jelly beans to see if they would grow into anything special.
After dinner we colored eggs. I had to start saying that we were "coloring Easter eggs", because when I said, "dye Easter eggs", Tessa got this horrified look on her face.

They each got some pretty colors!

Gwen had fun watching the kids. She loves to "talk" to her Daddy. Eric is the only one who can get her babbling and just about laughing.
That sneaking Easter Bunny left some fun things for the kids this year. They woke up ridiculously early-you would have thought it was Christmas.

Tessa wasted no time making a dent in her candy stash.

Those jelly beans grew into suckers!!
Adam and Tessa helped me decorate Ellie's birthday cake.
We attempted some Easter pictures. We eventually got some cute ones.

After church we headed over to Mamma and Bampa's house for dinner and another fun Easter egg hunt. The cousins had so much fun playing together! We had a great time visiting with everyone.

3 Months Old

Our beautiful baby girl turned 3 months old this past Tuesday. We can't believe how fast she is growing. As of last week, she was just under 13 pounds. She is so smiley and we are starting to get some laughs out of her. She is our first chunky baby and we love all her chubby baby rolls.
She loves to be held, she loves to watch her brother and sister, she likes the noise of my blow dryer, she loves to chomp her fists, and she still LOVES to eat!
We love, love, love you Baby Gwen!!

"Christmas Easter"

Imagine our surprise this morning when we woke up to snow! We finally got the snow we have been waiting for all winter. By the time the snow stopped coming down, we had at least 4 inches. That is more than we got all winter long. Tessa looked outside this morning and said, "It's Christmas Easter!"
After Adam got home from school they headed to the backyard for some snow fun. Snow Angels were made, snowball fights were had, and for about 30 minutes there were 2 very happy children at our house. Then they got cold....

Easter Fun

We have been having some fun as we prepare for Easter this weekend. On Monday, we had a special family home evening lesson on the real meaning of Easter and talked a lot about the Savior's Atonement and Resurrection. Adam and Tessa both asked so many good questions and we had such a wonderful spirit in our home. It was the perfect way to begin our week of Easter activities. Each night we have been discussing the last week of the Savior's life and we hang corresponding pictures to remind us what this special holiday is really all about.
We have also been having some Easter fun with a few different activities. On Tuesday, the kids made 3D Easter eggs.
On Wednesday, we made some Easter cookies for the kids to take to their Primary teachers. Tessa helped me make the dough while Adam was at school. She loves to help me in the kitchen!

The cookies turned out cute and boy are they yummy!!

We had a fun Easter egg lunch.

Thursday we made paper plate Easter Bunnies. Anni and Boston were here with us and the kids had fun making these together.

The kids are so excited to see what the Easter Bunny is going to bring them this year. They have been having a lot of discussions about how well Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny know each other.

Conference Weekend

We had  a wonderful Conference weekend at home! It was nice to take some time off from life and listen to the wonderful messages from our Prophet and leaders. The kids have been so excited for Conference as we have planned what fun foods we were going to eat and as they watched me get all of their Conference activities ready.
Adam and Tessa waiting for Conference to start and enjoying our yummy Saturday morning breakfast.
I started something new this year. I put key words for the kids to listen to on little bucket and then filled them with different treats and snack foods. It was a hit and I think we have a new tradition.
Playing Conference Bingo
Saturday evening we headed up to my parents house to hang out during Priesthood session. When we got there, Ma and Pa had some Easter surprises waiting for the kids and the Easter Bunny had set up an egg hunt in the backyard for them.

They had so much fun hunting for eggs. The Easter Bunny left LOTS for them to find!

Uncle Ben helped Tessa get the eggs high in the tree.

Counting all their loot

Adam had fun over the 2 days of Conference filling up the Apostles chairs when it was their turn to speak to us. Both kids can tell us all 15 names in the right order!
Between sessions on Sunday, Daddy took a siesta and Adam and Tessa read stories. Adam loves to read to Tessa now! He reads everything he can get his hands on.
As the end of Conference drew near, the kids decided to play dress up and we were greeted by this Cougar Pirate. I love watching their imaginations at work.
We love General Conference and are thankful for the messages we heard and the family time we were able to have this weekend.

Princess Lessons

Tessa came downstairs all dressed up the other morning. I asked her what she was doing and she replied, "I'm going to teach Gwen how to be a princess." I guess you're never too young to learn:)
