Easter 2014

We had a fun Easter morning at our house. The kids were up bright and early to see if the Easter Bunny came. He did not disappoint them. He even left his bunny tracks all over the house. Tessa wants to know why he has so much powder on his feet. 

 They were excited to see that their jelly beans grew into bunny lollipops!

 Gwen wasted no time on making a dent in her candy. She loves peeps!

 The Easter Bunny left them a little egg hunt to do around the house. They were happy to see their baskets get even fuller when whey emptied all of their eggs.

 There was a dog running around our yard while I was trying to take pictures of the girls. Gwen was far more interested in the dog, so this is the best we could get.

 Adam sang with his little choir at church and they did such a good job. After church, we headed down to Ma and Pa's house for Easter dinner and to celebrate all the April birthdays. They had a little egg hunt out back for the kids.

Overall it was a fun and happy Easter. Mostly, we are grateful for our Savior and for all that He has done for us. Because of Him, we can be together forever, overcome our struggles and make each day better than the last. I am so very thankful that we have the gospel to teach our children and to help them come to know the Savior and understand how important He is. Because of Him, we are so very, very blessed!

Easter Countdown 2014

We  planned some fun things for our Easter countdown this year. We didn't get to some things and I didn't take pictures of most of our activities, but I did get a few. I need to get back on the ball with our little traditions. Here's a quick look at a few of our fun activities.

 We made some Bunny Faces out of marshmallows. This was my favorite cause Gwen has "talked" to these bunnies since we made them. She kneels in front of the fridge where they are hanging and will have her own little conversation with them.

 We went to the BYU Easter egg hunt. Each of them only got a couple of eggs, but we had a fun morning and we loved being down on the football field!

 Saturday evening, the kids planted their jelly beans in the front yard. They were hoping for some Easter magic!

For the last 2 weeks we have also been focusing on the life of the Savior and talking about all the wonderful things he did and the important events during the last week of his life. It has been special for me to teach the kids more about their Savior and share my testimony so often with them. Saturday night before they went to bed, we watched "The Lamb of God". Adam and Tessa watched most of it with their hands over their eyes. After family prayer, Adam told us he felt so happy inside. I was so grateful to be able to help him identify the Holy Ghost and have my kids really grasp how wonderful and special Easter is for all of us. 

The Princess Prom

 Last night, Daddy and Tessa went to the Princess Prom at the school. Tessa has been SO excited about this and asked Daddy every night for the last week, if he was sure he could go with her.

They both wore their best royal attire and had a lovely evening together. They danced and enjoyed cookies and punch and had their official royal picture taken. Tessa even came home with a flower. She said she had the best time ever! Daddy said she only danced a little bit. She mainly wanted to walk around acting regal. That's our Tessa!

Gwen the Entertainer

Gwen keeps me on my toes! She has personality plus and has us laughing all the time. She loves to dress up (when I can get her to wear clothes), she loves to wear jewelry and high heels and she loves purses. As you can see, we rarely make it to the end of the day without her ripping her pigtails out. But I do try...

I was doing the dishes the other night and she came downstairs and said, "Wook, Mommy!" This wasn't what I was expecting to see when I turned around. 8 purses all at once. She cracks me up!!

 Gwen can almost always be found with a microphone. She loves to sing!! Especially any song from Frozen. Her other favorite songs include "On the Open Road" from the Goofy Movie, Jesus wants me for a Sunbeam, Popcorn Popping, and Once there was a Snowman". She also loves I am a Child of God. But since I sing that to her at bedtime, whenever we sing it other than bedtime, she lays down-which is actually pretty funny to watch and makes Adam and Tessa laugh hysterically. She does that in Nursery too. 

 If you come to our house, this will probably be what you see-Gwen watching Frozen (while standing right in front of the TV), microphone in hand and singing with Elsa at the top of her lungs. 

Some days, having a 2 year old is the best!! Other days...not so much. But, we are thankful for her fun and cute personality that lights up our family and home!
