Summer of Fun-Week 10

The kids don't start school for two more weeks, but I think this was Mommy's last week of summer fun. Tomorrow is the big day we have been waiting for and we are all so anxious to see and hold our little Caleb!

Last Sunday, Tessa and I made some banana bread together. Tessa did almost all of the measuring and pouring herself. The bread tasted great, but the oven needed a good cleaning afterwards. I love having little cooks in the house and was happy to see how proud Tessa was. 

 Monday night, we were lucky enough to get tickets from Aunt Jan and Uncle Lynn to see Mary Poppins at the Hale Center Theater. Daddy stayed home with Gwen, so it was just Mommy, Adam, Tessa and we took Uncle David too. Tessa wanted to wear her Princess Anna dress and she got several compliments throughout the evening. 

 We loved the sets!

 It was such a fun production! We had a lovely evening at the theater.

Tuesday, after piano lessons, we visited Aunt Jodi for hair cuts. 

 38 1/2 weeks! Almost done!!

 On Friday, we had some of our dearest friends stop by for a visit before they headed home to Chicago. We have known the Littlemore's since we lived in Ogden. Jenny and I had a wonderful couple of hours catching up on life in more detail than we get to in texts and Adam and Ethan had so much fun playing together! I wish they lived closer! These boys would be the best of friends!

 They have known each other since they were 6 months old. 

We had a fun weekend celebrating Tessa's birthday.  More on that in the next post. 

Now we have our hospital bags packed, the house is mostly clean and the laundry is done. We are ready for it to be baby time!! 

Gwen's First Hair Cut

It's no secret that our kids take forever to grow hair. Tessa didn't even have her first hair cut until she was four! This week we did back to school hair cuts and we decided to trim Gwen's hair and give her some bangs to get some of her longer hair out of her eyes. She watched Adam and Tessa go before her, so she was ready for her turn! She sat so still and was so happy to have Aunt Jodi cut her hair! She's been telling everyone who asks about her hair, "Jodi cut it!" 

Princess Tessa

A couple of months ago, a friend of a friend contacted us and asked us if she could use Tessa as a model for her up and coming Etsy shop. She is an amazing seamstress and is making princess dresses for little girls. She thought Tessa would be the perfect model for her Anna dress. Tessa was thrilled to do it and I have to admit, I was excited too. What little girl doesn't want to be a princess?!

We met everyone for the photo shoot on Saturday evening and that was the first time we saw the dress. Thankfully, my measurements were good and it fit Tessa perfectly. She loved the dress and made the perfect Princess Anna!

 There were a lot of other girls and Tessa ended up being the last one that they got pictures of. It was a long evening, but I loved spending some quality time with our little Princess and she had fun just running around and being carefree. 

 Here are all the girls that were modeling all the different princess dresses. Getting them all in one shot was a challenge for the poor photographer!

 The highlight of the evening was when some unexpected visitors arrived and surprised these little girls! Ariel came first and you should have seen these girls! Oh my gosh! They were in princess heaven! Poor Arial couldn't even stand up cause everyone wanted to touch her and talk to her. 

 Tessa couldn't wipe the smile off of her face. 

 Then, the girls noticed Princess Elsa drive up and they all went RUNNING to her car. It was the cutest thing to watch!! 

 Tessa immediately became Elsa's shadow. 

 It was so fun having the "big" Princesses there with us for the evening!

 By the time it was Tessa's turn for pictures, it was about 9pm and we had lost our lighting. Most of the pictures I got were a bit blurry, but they are still so cute with Tessa and Elsa. While they were waiting to have their pictures taken together, Tessa and Elsa practiced their curtsey's. When Tessa curtsied for Elsa, Elsa told Tess that she had the most beautiful curtsey that she had ever seen. Tessa came running to me as fast as she could to see if I had heard what Elsa had said! She couldn't have been any happier at that moment!!

It was such a fun and magical night for our little Tessa. I'm so glad she got to be apart of such a fun photo shoot!
