Fall Break-Part 3

Thursday was Scarecrow day! We got going first thing in the morning and hit Main Street pretty early to see all the scarecrows that were out this year. We had some we loved and some we didn't care for at all. We walked a couple of miles and the kids did great. 

 Our least favorite...

 We got home and had a spooky lunch and then watched Hocus Pocus. 

 That afternoon, we picked Dad up from work and headed to Thanksgiving Point for the Scarecrow Festival. We loved seeing all the entries for this year. And as always, we loved walking around and enjoying the beautiful gardens. 

 We finally were able to see the new Light of the World exhibit and we loved it! Such beautiful sculptures of the Savoir!

 We were so amazed by the First Vision! We loved how the statues of Heavenly Father and Jesus were "floating".

 There was another BYU game that night, but it was an away game and it didn't start until 8:15pm. We don't have cable, so Adam resorted to listening to it on his radio. Caleb slept through it, and Mom and Dad were asleep long before Adam. But being the loyal fan that he is, he stayed up listening to the bitter end!!

Fall Break-Part 2

Wednesday we got to babysit Gia. After a yummy breakfast of cinnamon rolls and hot chocolate, we loaded the babies up and went for a walk on our beautiful river trail. Adam and Tessa pushed the babies the entire way. It was nice having helpers around. The weather was perfect and the fall colors were just beautiful.  

 After our walk, we made brownie haunted houses. I gave the kids a giant brownie square and some goodies and let them go to town. They all came up with their own designs and had fun.

 Later in the afternoon, we met up with Uncle Ryan and Uncle Alex at the pumpkin patch.

 The corn pit never gets old. 

 They climbed to the top of the hay stacks and then Caleb felt left out, so Uncle Alex helped him get up to the top. 

 We attempted the big corn maze. We wandered for a while and then Tessa found a shortcut out into the pumpkin fields. We eventually made it back to the beginning, but we had to get creative, which the kids loved. 

 Caleb loved the tractor ride!

 That evening, the kids gathered around the computer to watch a church broadcast with Studio C. It was uplifting to hear their testimonies and to hear about how they have drawn closer to the Savior from different experiences in their lives. The kids loved listening to them. It was a great way to end our busy day. 

Fall Break 2016-Part 1

We were so anxious for Fall Break to arrive this year. We were needing a break from school and some quality time together. We managed to squeeze in a ton of fun, so it was an awesome week!

Monday after chores were done, we had a fun lunch from Arctic Circle. The kids always love getting their Halloween flashlights this time of year. 

 After lunch, we built a huge fort in the living room and Mommy read ghost stories to the kids. 

 We also made spider cookies on Monday afternoon and that evening, we "boo'd" our neighbors with our spooky treats. 

 For FHE that night, we went on a fun Halloween cruise down the Provo river. It was a fun and slightly spooky evening, but most all, we just had fun. We had a funny Pirate who took us on our boat ride. He told us a new, spooky version of Little Red Riding Hood. 

 Caleb is just amazed by all the Halloween things everywhere we go! He's afraid of Spooky Spiders though. 

 Tuesday morning, Mommy took Gwen to dance and then met up with Aunt Jodi for lunch. (It's nice when Adam is home to babysit!) In the afternoon, we headed down to the Big Red Barn to get some delicious apple cider. That's one of our Fall Break traditions. And of course, you can't go to the Big Red Barn and not get ice cream. Even in October. 

 Adam's feet are getting too big to make ghost feet, so we tried ghost hands instead. But, we decided we like ghost feet better. Guess I'll just have to find bigger paper for Adam. 

 Tuesday night, we gathered at Aunt Dee's house with the rest of the family for a Great Pumpkin Party. We had dinner and watched It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. Well, we sort of watched it. We all pretty much recited the entire thing. What can we say? It's a family classic!

Caleb loved watching it though, and we all loved watching him laugh at Snoopy.
