~Cute Pictures~

Before my Grandma passed away she sent Tessa this outfit. Grandma said every girl should have a little black dress and a string of pearls. She couldn't find any pearls for Tessa, but she sent her this onesie that says, "This is my little black dress". Grandma would have loved this picture!!The other day Adam was watching the Curious George cartoon which is a daily event at out house. After the show was over, Adam started making a pile of everything he could see in the living room. I was making dinner and not really paying attention to what he was doing. Eric walked in from work and asked Adam what he was doing. Adam responded, "Making compost!" I guess he had learned about compost piles from George that day. I was impressed at how much he understood about a compost pile and was grateful that he was using blankets and dvd's and not pulling things out of the garbage. When we asked him what we use compost for he told us it was for vegetables! He is crazy smart for a 2 year old. His other new favorite thing to do is pat my head and say, "You are a good girl, Mommy!" Too cute!

April Fool's Day Fun

For our April Fool's Day dessert I served spaghetti and meatballs cupcakes. They may look gross, but they were really good!! It's amazing what you can do with frosting!!

Tessa Boo

Just had some cute pictures of our Tessa Boo over the past couple of weeks.
She is growing up so fast! This is one of the last dresses my Grandma Lemley sent Tessa....it totally looks like something I would have worn as a baby.

This is actually one of my old dresses! I love seeing her in it! She looks better in it than I did.

We had fun getting her pictures taken a few weeks ago. I LOVE this one!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

We had a pretty uneventful St. Patrick's Day, but the kids looked cute. Everyone loved Tessa's shamrock dress....thanks Ma!

We had a St. Patrick's Day party on Saturday with the Richards and it was fun! Lots of good food and good company!

Adam

Our little boy cracks us up! His new favorite is the book "Where The Wild Things Are" and we read it at least twice a day and he has it memorized. At night before he goes to bed he likes to dress up as Max-King of the Wild Things! (Yes, that is one of my wooden spoons.) I love his imagination! His other big news is....he is potty trained!!! I put it off for so long because I thought it was going to be such an ordeal, but he took to it right away and he is so proud to be a true big boy! Last night he talked to his Uncle Ben in Chicago who he never gets to talk to on the phone and here is how Adam greeted Ben on the phone-"Hi Ben! I go poo poo on the big boy potty!!" Luckily Uncle Ben thought it was funny and wanted to know if that is how he is beginning all of his conversations these days. We are proud of our big boy too!!

Our series of unfortunate events

The last week or two have been a bit challenging. About a week and a half ago Eric called me from work at 7:30 in the morning. As soon as the phone rang I knew it was bad news. He told me that when he pulled into the parking lot at work that morning, his tire fell off of his car! While we were really frustrated, we were grateful it happened when he was going 2 mph and not 70 mph! So $900 later, the car is fixed. UGH!!
Then-our kitchen sink plugged up late Thursday night. As of Saturday night we still hadn't talked to our landlord and I mentioned it to my brother. He told us what pipes we could unscrew and check. We did later that night and look what we found!! A butter knife!! It isn't our knife, so who knows how long it has been hanging out in our drain. Bizarre!!! Hopefully we are done with repairs for a while!!

7 Months old!!

She is growing up so fast!! Her new trick is that she sits all by herself. She is also starting to get up on her knees and push herself backwards while she is on her tummy. I think she is way anxious to chase Adam around the house. She is going to keep me on my toes soon!!
