The other day the house was suddenly too quiet and I knew that must mean someone by the name of Tessa must be up to trouble. I found her in my closet trying on shoes. She loves shoes! (She calls them "bye bye's".) When she tries to get the shoes on, she always lifts her leg up to reach the shoe instead of taking the shoe to her foot-it's pretty funny to watch.

A Merry Christmas!
~Christmas Day 2009~
Santa brought Adam a t-ball set!
Santa brought Tessa a "wee"!
A new baby to love from mommy and daddy.
What he has been asking Santa for-Little Einstein toys. He was thrilled and even sleeping with them tonight.
A doctor set from Ma and Pa. He usually uses his hammer and saw when we play doctor-he was happy to get the right kind of "tools".
Tessa loved her pink car from Ma and Pa. Now she can try and keep up with her big brother.
A crib for her babies from Mamma and Bampa.
A new costume for our dress up box!
A busy, but wonderful day! We were able to visit lots of family and talk to Uncle Matt in Texas. We are grateful for our Savior who we remember this day-grateful for His humble birth and His perfect example. We realize how blessed we are to have been given the greatest gifts of all-forever families and the knowledge of the Atonement. No other gifts can compare!
Merry Christmas!!

One excited boy!!
Adam is beyond excited for Christmas!! We have been counting down the days with a chain and he is so happy that the chain is almost gone. Tonight Mamma gave him a Santa hat and he insisted on wearing it to bed so he can be ready for Christmas. There is so much Christmas magic in the air!! I can't wait to see his face on Christmas day!
Cute, cute boy!!

A visit to Santa!!
We took the kids to see Santa this morning!! He promised some fun surprises Christmas morning and asked the kids to go to bed early on Christmas Eve and to leave some cookies out for him. Adam loved talking to him and has asked Santa for Little Einstein's twice now. Santa is going to have to work with Mommy and Daddy on that one. Tessa just waved at him and said, "Danda!" She loves Santa almost as much as she loves Christmas lights.

Spanish Fork Lights
Last night we loaded the kids up in the car and went for a drive to enjoy the Spanish Fork Lights. Tessa LOVES Christmas lights! Every time we drive by lights we hear "WOW!" come from her corner of the car. It's great when there are several houses in a row that have lights on because we hear, "WOW! WOW! WOW! WOW!" from her. It's pretty funny!

Merry Christmas!
I tried to get pictures of the kids in their cute Christmas Sunday clothes. We get comments every week on how adorable they look! The pictures didn't turn out great, but they are adorable!
Almost a sunbeam! He is so excited-I am so sad!

Strange!
Sometimes kids do the strangest things-especially my kids. Lately Adam has been complaining about his eyes hurting from the bright lights (the rising sun) when he wakes up. He insists I put a blanket over his head while his eyes adjust. But it can't be just any blanket-it has to be the blanket with the big holes (an afghan), so he can still see his cartoons. Seriously strange!!

Thanksgiving Weekend
It has been a busy weekend, but we have had a lot of fun! Thanksgiving was so fun to be with so much family and of course good food!!We got together with my cousins the night before Thanksgiving to have a dessert night. Tessa thought the food was excellent!
Adam had fun coloring with his cousins

My parents cooked another amazing Thanksgiving dinner! Pa did a great job carving Tom the Turkey.
Good food and good company!
Adam had a blast playing with uncle Kevin this weekend. They built a pirate ship out of legos.
Friday morning we got up early and went to the mall to watch Santa's grand arrival! The kids loved it and I think we found a new tradition.

Gratitude
I have been thinking a lot this week about gratitude-not just because it is Thanksgiving, but because we have so much to be thankful for! This week last year was when our faith was really tested. This week last year I moved back to Utah with the kids. My mom came up with her van to load us up with as much as we could fit and bring us back to Utah. Eric finished his last week of work and then drove down the night before Thanksgiving. Eric losing his job was one of the most difficult things we have ever dealt with and we never would have made it without our amazing families! Eric's parents opened their home to us without hesitation. The words "thank you" have never quite seemed enough. I don't think I will ever be able to tell them how grateful we are to them for letting us stay there. Having the constant support of our parents is what got us through most days. I think back to how many time's my sweet Mother-in-law told us how she had a really good feeling about Eric getting a job soon-that is what got me through-faith and prayers!
I am grateful for tithing! How there was enough money to pay our bills every month when we had no paycheck, I will never know, but there always was.
I am grateful for our families and friends who offered so many prayers and encouraging words in our behalf. It was much easier to be positive with them at our sides.
I am so grateful for a loving Heavenly Father who takes care of us, even when we are not aware that He is. Everything that happened to us in the last two years was for a reason. I am so grateful to know that He loves us and wants the best for us. As we do our part, He is anxiously waiting to bless us with the things we need.
I have always loved this time of year, but I think because of what happened this time last year, this will forever be my favorite time of year. Looking back we can easily see the Lord's hand leading our family to where we are now. This time of year will always remind me of how blessed we really are and help me to teach my children the importance of gratitude, not just at Thanksgiving time, but all year long.
