Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss

Today we had fun celebrating the birthday of the very creative, Dr. Seuss. We love this day at our house and had lots of fun doing different Dr. Seussy things.
All week long we have had fun reading all of our Dr. Seuss books!
This morning we had our traditional Green Eggs and Ham for breakfast. This year I threw in a new element...the cat's hat with fruit. Adam loved it, Tessa politely declined.

She gobbled up her green eggs though!
We played Dr. Seuss Hot and Cold. Adam is hiding a picture of "The Cat in the Hat" for Tessa to come and find. (Adam made his hat at school. They had a Dr. Seuss read-a-thon and he got to take his pillow and favorite Dr. Seuss book to school with him. He said it was a lot of fun!)
We made a fun lunch...the cat's hat again in pizza form.

We played a Dr. Seuss matching game.
We worked on our rhyming words and wrote poems like Dr. Seuss did. Here is one Adam and Tessa composed and Adam wrote down.

We made Cat in the Hat faces on paper plates and hand print "Thing One" and "Thing Two"
Our final activity was requested by Adam. Last year he loved when we made Oobleck, so we made it again this year. It did not disappoint!
Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!!!
