Summer of Fun-Week 8

Last week started out with a wonderful visit from our dear friends, the Waitman's. Tami, Alex, Lauren, Ma and Pa came down and had dinner with us on Monday night. It was fun to visit with Tami and the girls.

Tuesday, we went up to Midvale to meet the newest member of the family. The kids were excited to see their new cousin, Karalee. They each got to hold her and had fun checking out all of her tiny body parts. Kevin took the cutest picture of Gwen holding the baby, but I haven't figured out how to get it off of my phone yet. Holding a new baby made us all anxious to have Caleb get here!

Tuesday afternoon, Adam, Tessa and Mommy went and saw Cinderella at the Hale.
Adam and Tessa loved the play and they laughed their heads off during the slow motion sequence.
It was too bright outside to look at the camera, but Tessa was so happy to have her picture with Cinderella.
Wednesday, we ventured up to Salt Lake for the morning with Ma, Uncle David and the Waitman girls.
Tessa wanted to wear her pioneer bonnet. She told me, "We are going to be like the pioneers and walking a lot!"

Gwennie was a pill and didn't want to be held by anyone but Mommy and she refused to stay in a stroller. She just wanted to run everywhere. Needless to say, Mommy came home rather exhausted!

Last week was Fiesta Days here in Spanish Fork, so Wednesday night, we took the kids over to the carnival for a bit.
Each kid got to pick 2 rides to go on. Adam's first pick was the jumbo slide.
Tessa, who is totally afraid of heights, was dying to do this fun house with a crazy high slide! She went all by herself and said it was awesome! She said she just kept telling herself, "Don't look down!"

The girls went on a boat ride together.

Daddy took Gwennie on the carousel and she was in heaven!

The boys did the berry go round. It made me sick just watching them spin so fast. But they loved it!

After some rides we stopped for some shaved ice to cool down.

We had the most amazing sunset that evening! It was beautiful!!
Thursday was Pioneer Day and Mommy needed to do some recovering from the days before, so we skipped the parade this year and watched the parade in Salt Lake on TV and made pancakes for breakfast.
We can't have Pioneer Day without some Pioneer activities.
Adam and Tessa both made homemade bread and butter.

 We made marshmallow covered wagons.

The finished product. Their loaves of bread looked and tasted great!

We also learned how to sew a button.

We went up to Maggie and Scott's house that night for our traditional Pioneer Day Dutch Oven dinner. It was delicious as always and it was fun to visit with everyone.
Gwen practically ate an entire bowl of salsa by herself.
Tessa had the very pioneerish dinner of wheels and cheese.
Uncle Danny loves to torture Gwen. She just ignored him and played with his nose.

Adam had tons of fun having water fights with all the boys and Tessa and Annie worked on their ballet.

Ares had a sleepover Thursday night and was here to play with the kids on Friday. We ran by the Library on Friday and the kids finished off everything for their summer reading program. They got new books, certificates of completion, candy and a free dinner at HuHot.
Saturday was a nice family day at home. We got some yard work done and Mommy even got to run some errands alone! Adam and Tessa spent the morning in the pool. Gwen thought it was too hot to be outside, so she stayed inside and played with her toys. I love watching her use her imagination! She cracks us up!!
After Daddy was done with his work, he hopped in the pool with the kids. Then Gwen decided she wanted to join in on the fun. They had a blast playing with their fun Daddy!!

We spent the evening at the Verizon store getting Mommy a new phone. That took a ridiculous amount of time. But the kids were so, so good while we were there, so we decided to take them out for a late night of bowling at BYU. The kids had SO much fun!!

Sunday evening we all gathered at Danny and Shannee's place to finally celebrate Ma's birthday. It was nice to get together and have some family time. I'll have to figure out how to get those pictures off my phone later too.
We are on the countdown for Caleb's arrival. We have almost everything ready for him, so now we just wait. We are all so excited!!
