Star Students!

These cute kiddos are loving school and doing so well! We had Parent/Teacher Conference last week and both of their teachers had nothing but good things to say about them.
Mrs. Hales showed me some of  Tessa's work and she said Tessa is doing very well on all of her work and her reading is above where she should be. She said Tessa is very smart and she can tell we do a lot of work together at home. (Hallelujah! My work pays off!) Mrs. Hales also said she is so glad to have Tessa in her class and that she is so helpful, respectful, and polite.
Mrs. Woodhouse told me she is a little concerned about Adam....in a good way. She said she has to prove that he advanced by the end of the year, but he is already so advanced for 2nd Grade, she's not sure how she is going to prove that she actually taught him anything. She said he is amazingly smart and everyone who reads with him is blown away at how well he reads. She said he is reading at a middle fourth to early 5th grade level. He loves math and has scored 100% on every math and spelling assignment/test they have had so far this year. Mrs. Woodhouse also said she is so happy to have Adam in her class and that he is also so polite, respectful and helpful.
I am so proud of my little students and am so grateful that they love to learn and love school so much!

Halloween Countdown, Pumpkin Patch and Trunk or Treating

This year our Halloween countdown has been a bust and I am bummed about it. This past week did not go like I planned-at all. Last Monday, we were supposed to have our "Ghost Day". I had just put our Ghostly Shepherds Pie in the oven and then something hit me and I was suddenly so sick. I spent all Monday night horribly ill and then Tessa and Gwen came down with it too. We spent all of Tuesday being sick and were very thankful for Eric who stayed home from work and took good care of us! The girls bounced back by Tuesday evening, but it took me until Saturday to feel good again. So, so much for our week of fun activities.
There wasn't any school on Friday, so I mustered up some energy and we tried to have some fun. We made some skeletons with q-tips.

Saturday, we made some witch hat cookies.

Friday afternoon we also got out of the house and went to the Pumpkin Patch. It was challenging to chase all 3 kids around and take pictures, but we had fun and the kids were thrilled to finally pick up some pumpkins.
Gwen was not a fan of the corn box.

Poor Gwen couldn't climb up the bales of hay on her own, so Tessa was a good sister and tried to help her up to the slides.

Saturday night we had our ward Trunk or Treat Party. Gwen wasn't sure about it at first, but after she saw that people were just giving her candy, she loved it. Everyone loved  their cute costumes!

Someone in our ward brought Flo the Car. The kids went crazy when they saw her.
We are hoping everyone stays healthy this week so we can have some fun before the big Halloween celebration. These kids can hardly wait!

Halloween Countdown

Our Halloween countdown began over the weekend. We had to postpone day 1 because Adam woke up with a sick tummy Friday morning. But, we are back on track and having fun getting ready for Halloween!
Day 1: Cats
Adam and Tessa made black cats out of their hand prints.
 Day 2: Owls
We made our favorite owl pizza for lunch on Saturday.

 Day 3: Pumpkins
Sunday we decorated pumpkins. Gwen had a ball doing this!

They got pretty creative and the pumpkins turned out really cute!
Then we did some favorite pumpkin bowling. Gwen wasn't quite sure about this. She would walk up to the toilet paper and throw the pumpkin behind all the rolls. Adam and Tessa thought that was hilarious!
