Our last full week of summer has come and gone. School starts this next week and now that summer is over, it feels like we hardly did anything. But, I know that our summer has been an awesome one and we have so many fun memories.
Monday, we had Candace, Cheryl, Ammon and Brooklyn come and spend the day with us. It was fun to visit with them and catch up on everyone's lives.
Tuesday morning we went and got back to school haircuts from Aunt Jodi.
Tuesday afternoon, Tessa had her 5 year old well check with Dr. Cathy. Tessa thought it was pretty cool to get to pee in a cup. She loved doing her eye exam and answering all of Cathy's questions. Cathy was shocked at how healthy Tessa is after hearing about her diet. Tess also got her shots and that was less than pleasant, but lucky for her she left with an armful of prizes from the nurse.
After her appointment we stopped my Macey's for some ice cream. Tessa says Macey's has the best ice cream...after the BYU creamery, of course.
Tuesday evening, Adam and I took some treats to some of our new neighbors. Then the boys went on a bike ride, until Adam got a flat tire and they had to walk all the way home.
Wednesday we had another fun day at Seven Peaks. Ma, Katy and Ares came to play with us. That afternoon Aunt Katy came over and stayed the night with the kids while Eric and I took off for our little anniversary celebration.
Thursday evening we headed over to the County Fair. The kids loved seeing and petting all the animals.
We loved the Lego exhibit. That 7 foot Tower of Mordor behind Adam was done by our neighbor.
We loved all the Wizard of Oz displays. We had fun reading that book this summer.
Gwen couldn't decide which animals she like and which ones she didn't. The birds kind of freaked her out.
Tessa got some glitter strands in her hair.
Friday morning we headed up to Salt Lake City and spent the day with Ma and Pa at This Is the Place Heritage Park.
We had only been there 5 minutes and Gwen was already throwing fits about being in her stroller.
Adam and Tessa learned about the phrase "Don't let the bed bugs bite".
They got to do some pioneer chores. They learned how to wash, dry, and iron clothes, and how to beat a rug.
Adam tried out some stilts. T
Gwen just wanted to throw dirt.
We learned about spinning wool.
Adam got a shave from the Barber.
Checking out the bank.
Learning about how the Desert News was printed for the pioneers.
Milking a cow and pony rides. We loved seeing all the animals.
At school!
Adam cooling off at the splash pad.
One of their favorite activities was panning for gold. They found several little pieces!
Gwen just wanted to get dirty. And she did a good job accomplishing that!
Adam and Tessa got to make some arrowhead necklaces.
It was a fun day! Adam left with Ma and Pa and got to go to the Planetarium and have a sleepover for his birthday. He said he had a great time and loved playing games with everyone. I dropped Tessa off at Mamma and Bampa's house on our way home for her birthday sleepover. They rode on the Front Runner train and Tessa said she had the best time!
Saturday we headed way up north for Aunt Lisa's baby shower. Gwen was a maniac, but was cute playing with her cousin, Brioney.
