Summer of Fun-Week 6

Last week we spent a lot of time getting ready for school to begin. With Mommy having surgery in a couple of weeks, it's time to get things ready for the fall and the rest of our summer. We have been shopping for school clothes and getting ready for early birthday parties. But, we had a lot of fun last week too!
On Monday, we invited some friends over for a pool party. The kids had fun playing in the pool, on the slipn' slide, and they had water balloon fight.

Monday night, we had Family Home Evening at the Temple and treats at the Big Red Barn.

The kids have  been so good about doing their chores and schoolwork most mornings. We have also been diligent in our morning devotionals, and we are reading through the Book of Mormon faster than ever.
Tuesday the kids had piano lessons, we ran lots of errands, and that night, Mommy got to run away to Aunt Dee's house for a Boy Band party. Adam got to go with Uncle Danny and Ares to the Flag Retirement ceremony at the fairgrounds.

Wednesday, we got to go to the Hale Center Theater and see Alice in Wonderland. This was the best summer production we have seen yet! It was a very fun show and we loved it!
With all the Flowers of the Golden Afternoon.
 The Cheshire Cats
 The funny Mad Hatter
 Alice and the White Rabbit
The Queen of Hearts, the King, and some of the playing cards.
Caleb survived all of our shopping during the week. Only because he got  new hat that he loves.
Thursday we met up with some of our friends and spent some time at Nickelmania. The kids had a ball!

That evening, we went to the pond to feed the ducks. We got lucky and got to feed several beautiful swans.

We stopped for a special treat on the way home. Caleb loved the music they had playing and danced the whole time we were there.
Friday we had a slow and lazy morning. It was really nice.

The kids played most of the day, and made a craft, and we watched an afternoon movie. I introduced them to ET. They all loved it!
Friday night, when Daddy got home, we set up camp in the backyard. We roasted hot dogs for dinner, set up the tent, played games, had some serious s'mores, and looked at the stars. It was a late night because of everyone in our neighborhood doing fireworks, but we had a super fun evening together!

Saturday we had a new adventure and went to Jigglefest at Thanksgiving Point. It was a giant Jell-O fight. The younger kids weren't too sure about what was going on, but Adam and Daddy made the most of it and ended up very Jell-Oy. It was really fun!!

The kids loved playing in the bounce houses.
And we all loved strolling around the beautiful gardens.

Saturday evening we went up to Ma and Pa's house for a barbecue and to play our new favorite game, 9 square in the air. It was a really fun evening.
We were all laughing Sunday morning as it was apparent that Caleb had a Heavenly glow about him. The sun hit his face perfectly to make him look angelic.
Adam spent most of his Sunday afternoon working on family history. I love that the youth have been bitten by the family history bug and that they are anxious and willing to do it!
