Happy Halloween!

We had a fun Halloween! The kids have been so excited for Trick or Treating and to wear their costumes. Adam and Tessa both wore their costumes all day and Gwen did really well keeping her hat on when she had her costume on.
Adam had a Halloween parade at school this afternoon, so the girls and I went to watch him march in the parade.

The cutest Cat in the Hat! Eric thinks we should call her Kitten in the Hat.

I am loving these blue wigs I made for them! You can spot them a mile away.

We went to Ma and Pa's house for dinner and Trick or Treating so we could go with Ares. Before the kids headed out, Ma read them a Halloween story.

 Gwen's first Halloween!

They had so much fun and got so much candy! Everyone loved their costumes!
Last year, Tessa ran around yelling, "Candy, here I come!" This year she ran around yelling, "Charge for candy!!"
We were so surprised to find Santa Claus sitting on a porch, waiting for the kids. He handed out candy canes and some Halloween candy. He reminded the kids to be good and that he would be back in 2 months with more treats. Seeing Santa was the highlight of the night!

Poor Gwen was worn out by the time we finished making our way around the neighborhood.
They wasted no time dumping out their candy to see what and how much they got.
We will be eating candy for months.....
We got home in time for Adam to catch the last quarter of the Jazz game. He got a few peeks at the score while we were Trick or Treating.
Another fun Halloween come and gone. I am sure that Adam and Tessa will start planning next years costumes tomorrow morning. I love making these fun memories with them. Eric and I just wish they would stop growing up so fast.

Halloween Countdown

 Day 2-Spiders
We made spider ice cubes to go with dinner.
We had some other spider activities and crafts planned, but decided to spend our evening carving pumpkins.
Adam's pumpkin was about the size of Gwen!

Even Gwennie got her own baby size pumpkin.

After dinner, the kids got right to work on designing their faces. Adam wanted a Goblin face on his pumpkin and Tessa wanted a Ghost face on her pumpkin.
She is trying to show Eric how she wanted her pumpkin face to look, and she wanted it exactly like the face she was making.

Adam did a good job of scooping out his pumpkin "brains".  As you can see, Tess wanted nothing to do with her pumpkin or it's "brains".
 Tessa was a good supervisor.
Gwen spent her evening doing what she does best-emptying the cupboards.

Even Mommy got to do some carving.

Tessa decided to be brave and put her candle in her pumpkin, but was less than thrilled when her hand touched the inside of the pumpkin.

 They turned out super cute!
 Day 1-Mummy's
For our final day of our Halloween countdown, we did one of their favorite Halloween activities-Toilet Paper Mummy's. Adam wrapped Tessa and Tessa wrapped Adam. They loved it!

 Tessa the Mummy!

Adam wanted to be a real mummy and have his whole face covered. Tessa placed each piece of toilet paper over his face so carefully. It was cute to watch her be so meticulous.
 Adam the Mummy!
And then came their favorite part-destroying all the toilet paper and pretending to make it snow inside.

We made a Mummy Pizza Braid for dinner.
To finish everything off, Daddy told the kids the story of the Spanish Fork Indian. (Eric makes up the best stories for the kids and they love hearing them over and over again.)
Tessa was a little spooked, but they were glad to finally hear the story Daddy has been saving for Halloween Eve.
They are crazy excited for Halloween and Trick or Treating! I hope they get some sleep tonight. You'd think it was Christmas Eve around here!
