Summer of Fun- Week 10

Our summer came to a end this past week. We had so much fun this year. I am sad that it is already over. I like having all my babies home with me all day long. We tried to squeeze in some last minute fun last week.
Monday we had friends over to play. We also made finger rockets. These were a fun project and the boys especially like them! Our princesses had fun with them too.
Tuesday we spent the day at the park and splash pad. We found Caleb's happy place! He loved playing in the water! We couldn't keep him out of the water. He would crawl into the water (because it was faster) and by the time we left, his knees were totally scrapped. But, he could have cared less.
Tessa has suddenly started to look so grown up. She's quite the little beauty and she loves her baby brother!

 Caleb loves to swing!!
 Mountain climbers
Tuesday night, we headed to BYU for the annual Cougar Kick-off party. It was so much fun!
Adam tried to dunk some of the volleyball players.

The kids got to race with the track team.

Adam was so happy to meet some of the football team.

Adam got to meet Greg Wrubell.
They even got their faces painted!
Wednesday we worked on some chores and had Caleb'b birthday party.
Thursday we did a fun art project that these kids loved and are so proud of. I love how they each are unique to each of them.

Friday we spent the day at the Museum of Natural Curiosity. Caleb wasn't quite sure about the water table.

 Inside the wind tunnel.

The girls loved pretending to be veterinarians. They could have played here for hours.
Adam loved playing on the zip line.

Caleb is such a trooper. He wants to run around with the big kids so badly, but he is so good to just watch from the stroller while we are out and about for hours.
Friday night was Back to School Night for Adam and Tessa. They were so excited to see who their teachers are for this school year.
Adam is going into 4th grade and has Mrs. Burnside as his teacher.

Tessa will be in 2nd grade this year and has Ms. Young for a teacher. I think they will be kindred spirits!
We spent Friday evening at Ma and Pa's house to celebrate Uncle Ben's birthday. Caleb liked Uncle Matt's computer.
Saturday we had a fun family adventure. We went up into the Uintah mountains for the day. We stopped by the Fairy Forest to see what had changed in 2 years. There were so many new fairy homes and villages. Tessa and Gwen were determined to find a fairy. We didn't see any, but Tessa is pretty sure she found the Tooth Fairy's home.

After we left the Fairy Forest, we drove up to Mirror Lake. It was beautiful, but freezing cold and we did not dress for chilly weather. It was super, super windy....which is what made it so cold. We had planned on swimming, but everyone decided it was definitely too cold for that. So we had our picnic and then spent some time walking around the lake and getting our feet wet.
 Caleb stole Adam's apple.

Adam ended up falling into the lake, trying to save his watch from getting wet. We all had a good laugh and he was really cold after that!!

Gwen was not happy about leaving. She kept telling us she wanted another adventure.
We stopped at Dairy Keen on our way home for ice cream.

The kids and Daddy spent the rest of the afternoon and evening in our little pool. Caleb was so happy to swim with the big kids.
We got a hammock at the beginning of summer and Mommy finally had a chance to try it out.

Sunday night we had our special Back to School dinner and evening. We had a yummy spaghetti dinner (the kids chose the menu) and we talked about our new family theme for the year. Adam and Tessa got everything ready for their first day of school and Daddy gave all the kids a father's blessing. I hate sending the kids back to school, but this is one of our favorite family nights of the year.
Summer was good to us. We had a lot of fun and made a lot of new memories. Now we have lots of fall and winter fun to look forward to!
