Our first week of summer started with a bang and we haven't slowed down one bit! The Friday school got out, we had the Riley's over for our annual kick off to summer s'mores party. We played games, ate yummy food, and enjoyed visiting with our wonderful friends.
A perfect picture of summer. A fun backyard with some happy kids.
On Monday, we finally busted out the new pool. The kids were just a little excited about it...as you can tell!
Caleb has discovered ice cream cones. Now we just need to work on how to eat them properly.
Monday evening, we went to a movie night in our city park. They were showing Star Wars. The kids got to make light sabers and had a ball running around for hours before the movie started, playing with all the kids in the park.
Caleb liked sitting in the big kids chair.
Poor Princess Leia got attacked.
We waited until almost 10pm for the movie. They couldn't get the projector to work, so we came home and let the kids turn on the movie here. No one lasted through the whole thing.
Tuesday was Flag Day. We started our day with the Pledge of Allegiance.
We had our traditional red, white, and blue pancakes for breakfast.
We went to a puppet show at the library.
We made up our own version of Capture the Flag.
Friday we got to go to Lagoon for Daddy's works summer party. This was the kids first time at Lagoon and we had a really fun day together!
Tea Cups!
Gwen and Adam love the fast rides! Mommy and Daddy quickly realized that our stomachs and heads aren't as young and easy going as they used to be.
Tessa's happy place was on all the little kids (safe and slow) rides.
We splurged and shared an ice cream treat in the afternoon.
Aunt Katy was a life saver and kept Caleb for the day. We missed him, but it was a fun day with the older 3 kids!
Rattlesnake Rapids was a favorite ride. We forced Tessa on it the 2nd time so Mommy could ride. She literally jumped into a strangers lap to avoid the waterfall, but then she decided it was fun. Mommy and Daddy walked away the wettest after both times riding it.
Tessa decided she loved the SkyRide and we rode it a couple of times.
It was a long, hot, but fun day!
Sunday was Father's Day. We were busy with family reunion stuff, but we were glad to spend some time in the morning with Daddy and give him some gifts. The kids are so lucky to have him as their Dad!!
