I can tell summer is starting to come to an end because we are getting a bit lazy. The beginning of our week (last week) wasn't terribly exciting. The kids played a lot with friends and we just kind of vegged at home. Monday afternoon, Tessa was playing at her friends house all afternoon, but Adam asked if he and I could snuggle on the couch and watch a movie. He chose Harry Potter. Gwen was enthralled with the movie. She plopped herself on the floor with a bowl of popcorn and hardly took her eyes off the TV. It was pretty funny. Tuesday we had another play day with friends and gymnastics for Tess. We had friends over first thing in the morning-literally. They played from 6:45 am until the early afternoon with Camdyn and Haley and had a ball! Adam and Haley played several rounds of Battleship and Tessa and Camdyn played their favorite game, Trick or Treating. I tried to not be a creepy mom and take pictures of them playing together.
Wednesday we hit the water park again and had a fun morning there. Ma, David and Andrew came with us this time. Gwen was not a fan of being in the water with anyone but me.
Ma and Adam in the Lazy River
David and Tessa in the Lazy River
Gwen taking a little snack break.
Adam showing off how big he can splash out of the water slide!
Uncle David helping Tessa warm up.
Andrew tried to give me a break and take Gwen in the Lazy River. She wasn't having any of that!
We were worn out after playing in the water all morning, but we got silly in the afternoon and had some fun making chin puppets on each other. It was hysterical to hear the kids laugh at each others faces. I love their deep belly laughs!
Our beautiful Tessa! She gets prettier all the time!
Thursday was a big day at our house! We got both Adam and Tessa all registered for school. Adam was almost giddy with excitement. He couldn't wait to find out who his teacher is for second grade. We got all of their paperwork turned in, their school shirts and yearbooks ordered, and found out that Adam's teacher is Mrs. Woodhouse and Tessa's teacher is Mrs. Hales! She was hoping she would have Mrs. Hales (this was also Adam's kindergarten teacher) and she was thrilled that her wish came true!
I can't believe she is in Kindergarten already. She had to go find her classroom.
Thursday we also visited the Library and turned in our summer reading charts. We have been keeping pretty good track of our books on our bookshelf and both kids have been reading like crazy all summer. They are glad we will get our bookshelf all filled up before school starts.
We went to our last Story Time until next summer. Gwen does not sit still for anything anymore, so she and I wander around the Library while Adam and Tess do their Story Time activities.
They each got a new book and a certificate to Del Taco for completing the summer reading program.
Thursday afternoon we decided to check out the Springville splash pad. We had lots of fun getting wet and soaking up some sun!
All worn out! Gwen tried to help Adam get all the water drops off his back.
We ended our very busy Thursday with a treat from Waffle Love.
Friday we spent a fun day at the zoo!
Checking out the new exhibit that will be finished next year. It will be awesome!
We loved seeing the elephant show. Tessa has now decided that she wants to be an elephant trainer when she grows up.
We got to touch a turtle!
The gorilla got really close and did not look very happy with us. Gwen was so excited to see him!
Tessa had to pretend to be an eagle in the nest.
Then she had to pretend to be a bear cub. Gwen just wanted out of her stroller...
Learning about a barn owl.
If you ask Tessa what her favorite part of our day was, she will tell you, "The gift shop!" I let them each pick out something at the end of our day at the zoo. Tess picked this pink stuffed tiger that she adores! She was so happy to get it! Adam picked out some cars and Gwen picked the same tiger as Tessa, just a purple one.
We had so much fun!
Saturday we got some things done around the house and went grocery shopping-extra fun stuff! Mommy spent the afternoon and evening getting ready for Tessa's big beach party we had on Sunday, while Daddy and the kids spent a fun afternoon miniature golfing and playing arcade games at Trifalga. Sunday evening we had the family over to celebrate Tessa's big birthday. More on that fun party soon!
