Adam

Adam has been a busy boy lately. He has had a lot going on in school and he of course keeps busy with his daily basketball games every afternoon. Here are a few Adam highlights from the last couple of weeks.
Before Spring Break, we had the school book fair and Art Show. Adam was thrilled to get a new basketball book at the book fair and he won a basketball poster!
He also entered a drawing into the school Art Show. We loved that he included a Y on his mountain.

Adam's writing has improved so much this school year. It was already pretty good, but now it is really good! This is a rough draft for a story he is writing. His Dad and I were both very impressed with his penmanship and his spelling. We love the words that he tried to figure out on his own. Not bad for a rough draft.
Recently, he and his classmates all had to write a report on their favorite animal and then do an oral presentation. Adam chose a platypus as his favorite animal (thank you, Phineas and Ferb). Mrs. Riley video taped their presentations and sent copies home for us to watch. We had fun watching him and all of his friends!
One of Adam's favorite parts of General Conference...banana splits after Priesthood Session.
His Uncle Ben left on his mission this week and the night after we said goodbye to Uncle Ben at the MTC, I found this picture of Ben and Adam. It has always been one of my most favorite pictures!
I had to run to the store and get some bananas and apples the other night, and look who I found shopping! I showed Adam when I got home and he was beyond thrilled! He'll never let me go shopping without him again!
This Saturday, Mommy and Adam had a special afternoon together. Daddy was at school and the girls got to play at Ma and Pa's house while we went and saw the play, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at the Hale Center Theater. We stopped for a quick lunch at Arby's (Adam has been dying to try their curly fries since his teacher told him that they were her favorite) before we headed to the show.
We had a really fun time together and loved the show. I loved hearing him laugh. We even ran into some cousins while we were there! Every once and a while I would catch Adam pretending to shoot a basket with his hands. This boy is basketball obsessed!!!

He loved the Spies and the Child Catcher. During intermissions, one of the Spies was walking around passing out red vines to people. Adam was lucky enough to get one.
He also wanted his picture with the Child Catcher. He is brave! The Child Catcher always gave me nightmares as a kid.
It is hard to watch my baby grow up so fast. He made me cry at the play when he hugged me and said, "You're the best Mommy ever!" We are so proud of our Adam and the good boy that he is!
