Our week 3 of summer wasn't a terribly exciting one. There were several days where Mommy just didn't feel good, and we had some fun summer storms come through that kept us inside. But, there were a few fun highlights.
Since we were out of town on Flag Day, we celebrated it a couple of days later. On Monday, we had red, white and blue pancakes for breakfast.
We learned about the American Flag and then I gave the kids a challenge to create their own flags. Tessa made her flag for Unicorn Land.
We made a flag pizza for lunch.
Monday afternoon was spent strawberry picking in our backyard. They filled up 2 big bowls full. Tessa was so proud of herself for touching strawberries! Baby steps...
Tuesday and Wednesday were stormy days. After piano lessons on Tuesday, we got some errands done and then Mommy was toast the rest of the day.
Wednesday the kids had a pajama day and it was Adam's turn in the kitchen for a cooking lesson. He made his first batch of rice krispy treats.
We have been working hard on our summer reading programs. We return a new stack of books to the library weekly.
Adam has tried to watch some of the World Cup. He watched Chile vs. Spain while he worked on a giant puzzle.
Adam and Tessa love our afternoons at the Library. Gwen-not so much. Perhaps this is why Mommy doesn't feel good for a couple of days. I spend Story Time and Science Club chasing Gwen all over the place.
This weeks Story Time was all about Robots. They got to make robots out of candy and marshmallows.
We've had lots of evening soccer matches in the backyard.
Thursday was our Brag Tag day. We spent time going around town collecting the Brag Tags the kids earned during the week. We got to see this super old car and Adam thought it was pretty cool!
Thursday evening we went to the fair grounds and got to ride horses! One of their Tags was to ride a horse and to help the kids in the community accomplish that, the Diamond Fork Riding Club provided an opportunity to come and learn about horses and then let each kid have a chance to ride a horse around the arena. All 3 kids were in heaven and had so much fun riding a horse!
Tessa loved it the most! She is such an animal girl.
While Mommy and Daddy went to Midway for the weekend, the kids got to spend Friday night and Saturday with Ma, Pa and Uncle David. On Saturday they went to the playground and had a ball. Ma couldn't believe what a dare devil Gwen is. Mommy and Daddy were grateful that Ma and Pa survived having all 3 kids for so long.
Uncle David helping Gwen on the monkey bars-the perfect toy for our Monkey!
