Carving Pumpkins

The kids decided that this year, instead of carving our pumpkins with traditional jack-o-lantern faces, they wanted to try something new. I was totally on board with that, so we did some research and they each found a design that was perfect for their current interests.
Since the "pumpkin guts" gross all of the kids out, Mommy and Daddy got stuck doing the dirty work. That meant Adam was put on picture duty.

We were worried that making pictures on pumpkins was going to take us all night, but it actually went really fast and we ended up with some amazing results.

Adam's pumpkin had BYU logo, Tessa had a wolf howling at the moon, Gwen had Ariel, and Caleb had a Storm Trooper. Caleb's pumpkin was a little too small, but it worked.
We were so excited about them! They all turned out so great!!

Halloween Fun!

Throughout the month of October, we had fun doing some of our favorite Halloween traditions. Plus a bunch of other fun activities.
We had to have Mommy tell the Chocolate Chip Ghost story and have ghost pudding. That is a Halloween must at our house.
Aunt Katy threw a fun Halloween FHE for the whole family. Caleb particularly liked the pumpkin bowling.
We had a doughnut eating contest
We bobbed for apples, which of course turned into a head dunking game.

The little kids got to paint pumpkins and the older "kids" got to carve pumpkins.

We had mummy dogs for dinner one evening.
Gwen made witch hat cookies.
Ghostly shepherds pie for another fun dinner.
We went to a fun Halloween party at the Springville Art Museum. The kids had so much fun!!

The fall colors in the courtyard were gorgeous!

Gwen was thrilled to find Cinderella at the party!
Having their fortunes told was probably their favorite part of the evening.
Mummy braid pizza's for another dinner!
We went to a haunted house here in Spanish Fork. We loved all the fun projections on the garage!

We saw lots of pirate ghosts and got chased out of the haunted house because one of the ghosts thought we stole the forbidden treasure!
We spent another fun afternoon at the pumpkin patch with our friends.

Caleb loved the GIANT pigs!!

Spooky eye spaghetti!! Can you tell we like to eat?

Vampire doughnuts and The Legend of Sleepy Hallow made for a good Friday night.
Daddy got to run away to run some errands (we are already working on Christmas shopping), so Mommy got crazy brave and took all 4 kids Trick or Treating on Main Street with every other citizen of Spanish Fork.

It was crazy crowded, but we ended up having a really great time!

And the kids were thrilled with all the pre-Halloween candy they got!
