Week In Review

It's been a busy week...here is what we have been up to.
I catered a wedding. I cooked for 3 days and made tons of food. I think it turned out pretty well. I might have another wedding in a couple of months. I am excited to do it again!

We have been packing. Yuck! Adam decided he really wanted to help pack things, so I let him start packing his room. He did a pretty good job.

The Toys R Us Christmas catalog came in the mail this week. I told Adam to look through it and see if there was anything in it that he might like for Christmas. I found him with a marker circling literally every single thing in the book! I am afraid we are going to have one very disappointed boy Christmas morning. He went back and put an X on about 5 things he decided he could live without. Pretty cute if you ask me!

Pumpkins!

I desperately wanted to take the kids to a pumpkin patch this year, but I didn't want Eric to miss it. Between our work schedules, the wedding, young women's and moving, it never happened. So, this Monday for FHE we visit Macey's Pumpkin patch. (Macey's is our local grocery store.) The kids had fun climbing over all the pumpkins and picking out their very own.

(it was freezing, but Adam insisted his sandals would keep his toes warm. go figure)

The kids were so anxious to see what was inside the pumpkin.
The final product....our jack-o-lantern (Adam named him Adam), our Micky Mouse jack-o-lantern and BYU jack-o-lantern!!

Oh My Butter!

This weekend is my biggest catering job yet (thank you Kara!). I will be so proud of myself if I can do this!! These pictures are of shopping trip number one. 44 boxes of butter, 10 cartons of eggs, 24 boxes of cream cheese, 27 lbs of powdered sugar and 24 boxes of cake...just to name a few things. You should see my fridge! I was going to take a picture of all the groceries once I finished my shopping, but I decided I didn't have the energy to pull all that butter out of the fridge again:)
On the menu...cake balls, mint brownies, cheesecakes and pumpkin cupcakes. We are planning for 350 people, so that is a lot of food!
I couldn't do this without Eric.... I love you!!!

Tess decided she had to sit on my lap while I was sewing the other night. She was very interested in what I was doing...it was pretty cute!

Hee Haw!

On Saturday we took the kids to Hee Haw Farm for some fall fun. The kids had a blast! I was impressed with how much there was to do. I think we could have spent the entire day there.
the hay maze
the big slide
the tractor ride

the animals! the kids went crazy over the animals! the pigs were a favorite since we are almost done reading "Charlotte's Web".
Tessa had no fear! she kept walking up to the animals and saying, "excuse me...(sheep)" and then she would just start talking to them. It was pretty funny.

petting the bunny rabbits
adam loved the donkey...he was very happy to have his head scratched

giant pumpkins!
bean bag toss

eric and adam shooting the corn cannon

playing in the corn box....a very clever idea!
adam LOVES mazes! he was thrilled they had a big corn maze. He told us, "i'm a good mazer!"

we had lots of fun spending the day together...the kids are ready for Halloween and counting down the days. they are going to look super cute!

Tessa

Tessa was singing in her bedroom a few days ago, so I took a peek to see what she was up to.
This is what I found...her toy giraffe singing "follow the prophet" into the toy microphone
Our poor girl took a bad spill after church on Sunday. Her nose and forehead are pretty banged up. She's a tough girl!

October Fun

Thursday was my only "free" day this week to get a bunch of things done...so we packed the day full of fun things! These pictures should be at the bottom of the post...we made a spooky dinner...mummy pizza braid and ghost pudding.

We finished up "mommy school" for the week. This week we worked on the letter C and our unit was about leaves. We made our own tree and had fun adding different leaves to it all week. Adam made a Caterpillar out of our C.
We made our favorite pumpkin chocolate chip cookies
I finished up our new Halloween wreath. I want to add a few more things to it, but for now it will do.
I made a ghost family for our house
We made ghost feet...taking pictures is a challenge sometimes
The kids can't seem to get enough of Halloween. I am glad we have the whole month to do more fun things!
