Tessa's Beach Birthday Bash!

Tessa's 5th birthday is later this week, but we celebrated with our family a few days early. On Sunday evening, we had the whole gang over to celebrate with us. Tessa requested a Beach Party this year, so we threw a big beach birthday bash for our big 5 year old!
Aunt Dee made Tessa and Gwen these adorable dresses for Tessa's beach party.
Tessa's flip flop cake! They turned out pretty cute. She also wanted some beach cupcakes, so we had some fun with those too.

 Our sand castle cake centerpiece.

 The spread...

Tessa was SO happy some of her cousins were able to come to her party! We sure wish we had cousins that lived closer, but we had fun playing with Roxy, Ellie, Zeke and August on Sunday.

Tessa really did most of the planning for this party. She planned the food, the decorations and the games. Maybe a party planning business is in her future. She planned about 6 games, but we picked 3 to do with her cousins on Sunday and 3 to do with her friends on her actual birthday.
The first game we played was Pin the Ray on the Sun.

Even Gwen gave it a shot!
 Our final sun:)
Tessa wanted to do the Limbo. She was surprisingly good at it and the kids had fun!

Our final game was a pinata. Tessa has asked for a pinata for the last couple of years, but this year I finally caved and we got one for her. They all had lots of fun whacking away at it!

Tessa got a lot of fun presents!
A super cute dress from Aunt Dee!
 Barbies!
Cute suitcases full of art supplies.

Her princess castle from Mommy and Daddy. She loved it!

These kids are so lucky to have such good uncles on both sides of the family that play with them. Uncle Alex and Uncle Ryan played Don't Break the Ice with Tessa and Uncle David spent forever playing soccer  with Adam and Gwen.

She said it was the best birthday party she has ever had! Pa was super nice and stayed pretty late and put most of her castle together while Daddy packed to leave for school the next morning. I couldn't get her to stop playing and go to bed. Finally, a little after 11pm she decided she was tired enough to stop playing. We were glad to help her have such a fun party! Happy Birthday to our big 5 year old!
