Amelia Bedelia

Last Friday, Mommy, Adam, and Tessa got to have a fun evening out together at Children's Theater. We saw Amelia Bedelia and had such a fun time! The play was darling, we got some yummy treats at the Soda Fountain after the show, and we had a fun time just spending a few hours together.

Tessa McPhee

We have been calling Tessa, "Nanny McPhee for the last few days. She has had a very stubborn loose tooth that is taking it sweet time falling out. In the meantime, Tessa has been left with a very awkward looking tooth and smile. If she closes her mouth, her tooth sticks out of her lips, just like Nanny McPhee.

When I picked her up from school on Monday, she was thrilled to show me that it finally came out! She had just gone to PE and was wiggling it with her fingers when a classmate bumped into her and it came out! She said it bled "forever", but she went to the office until it stopped and then Mr. O'Brian helped her pick out a special tooth box for her to keep it safe. She was so excited that the Tooth Fairy was finally going to come and she kept telling us, "I can't believe how adorable I look without a front tooth!" And we agree with her!

Provo City Center Temple Dedication

On Sunday, Mommy, Daddy, and Adam had the wonderful opportunity to attend the Provo City Center Temple Dedication. Ma was nice enough to babysit all the little kids, so Pa, Katy, Matt, and Gillian all came down and went with us. As always, the dedication was so special and we are so blessed to be able to be surrounded by so many temples!
What made this dedication extra special for us, is that Uncle Lynn helped with it. He spoke and led us all in the Hosanna Shout. We got to watch he and Aunt Jan help put mortar in the cornerstone and we even spotted Uncle Doug and Grandma Nielson in the Celestial Room for the dedication.
Tessa is hoping that another temple will be built soon so she can go to the next dedication with us.

St. Patrick's Day 2016

Our St. Patrick's Day was pretty low key this year. The night before, the kids decorated their box for the Leprechaun's and left it in the moonlight in hopes of finding it full of treasures in the morning.
They woke up excited to see if anything had been left and they found a giant green mess in our house. They followed the path of the green mess and found their box hiding in the bathtub full of fun things!
We had a yummy breakfast of green pancakes and rainbow fruit.
We had a fun dinner with lot of green food and Mommy made mint truffles for dessert. That was a wrap on our day. Gwennie and her friends did a few art projects during the week. We are getting ready for Easter now. They are too close together this year.

Happy Pi Day!

We had a fun Pi Day this year! We had Shepherd's Pie for dinner, we made an ice cream pie (one that everyone would eat) for dessert, and after FHE we read a fun Pi Day book called, "Sir Cumference and the Dragon of Pi". We love celebrating the random and silly "holiday's".

Daddy Turns 35!

Last Tuesday, Daddy turned 35! On Sunday, we went to Ma and Pa' house for a little party and then on Tuesday, Mommy and Daddy went out to dinner. It was kind of a low key birthday.

The kids made him laugh, so he didn't quite get all 35 candles.
On Saturday, Mommy and Daddy got to run away for the day-sort of an extended birthday celebration day. Aunt Katy was nice enough to take the kids for the whole day. They didn't miss us at all. In fact, the next morning when they all woke up, their first question was, "When is Aunt Katy coming back?" They played games and went to the park, and got ice cream, and had a fun dinner. It was a good day for these kiddos. Mommy and Daddy also had a wonderful day! It was so nice to run away together and have some time off from life and actually see and talk to each other. We went to brunch, saw a movie, ran errands, did some shopping, had a nice dinner, and saw The Pirate Queen at the Hale Center Theater. This might have to be our new birthday tradition.

Caleb's First Haircut

Yesterday, we finally took the plunge and cut Caleb's hair. We were lucky enough to have Jodi do it for us. Caleb was less than thrilled with the whole ordeal, but we brought his Star Wars toys to keep him happy. Mommy had to hold him and Adam was on picture duty.

For whatever reason, keeping C3PO in his mouth kept him happy and still for a few minutes.

After a few minutes, he was over it and it took some extra holding to keep him still.
 All done and so handsome!
He wasn't too sure about what was going on, but we love his new look. His little buzz cut totally fits his personality and he looks just like his Daddy now!

He was happy to stop at the Library afterwards for some games and reading. My baby suddenly looks like a big boy! Why do they grow up so fast?

Hold to the Rod

We had a fun FHE this week. We talked about Lehi's vision of the Tree of Life. I was glad to hear how much my kids already knew and understood about this scripture story. After our discussion, we blindfolded everyone and had then hold on to our iron rod. Daddy did a great job of rigging up an iron rod throughout the house and the yard. We tried to distract them and tempt them to see if they would let go of their rod, but each of them worked hard on staying on the path.

Outside they found that the rod led them to our Tree of Life. We had our tree lit up with lights and chocolate chip cookies hanging from the branches. That's our kind of precious fruit!

They were pleasantly surprised to find the tree and their treats. It was a great activity and one I hope they will always remember!
