Fall Break 2014

Last week was Fall Break for Adam and Tessa. We are lucky and they had an entire week off of school. They each wrote up their wish lists of things to do while they were home with Mommy, Gwen and Caleb. After reading Tessa's list, I was worried she was going to have a disappointing week.

Because we have a new baby and a two year old, Mommy was a bit more limited as to what we could actually get out and do together. I can't chase Gwen when I have Caleb to hold, and everything we do revolves around feeding time. The older kids are really good about understanding this. We did manage to squeeze in some fun during the week.
These kids love to ride their bikes. Gwen refuses to ride in the bike trailer anymore, so around the block is about all we can do with her and her little tricycle. Daddy was their hero and took them on a couple of bike rides in the evenings.
We played games and did art projects and had movie nights and went to the library and visited with family. Caleb had his shots this week and was not feeling well for a day or so afterwards, so a couple days we stayed home and took care of him. He just wanted to be held lots.
One morning, we walked all the way up and down Main Street to see all the scarecrows that are on display. Gwen was spooked after the first one and didn't want her picture with very many of them. More pictures to come soon. We have some great scarecrows this year!

The kids spent an entire afternoon building a fort and then playing in it. But, no animals were allowed for some reason.
We made and decorated Halloween sugar cookies.

Friday we spent the morning at the Pumpkin Patch.  The kids had a ball!

On the hay ride....there wasn't room for Mommy, so I just took pictures instead.

Gwen was worried about getting lost in the hay maze.

Pumpkin shopping....they each got to pick a pumpkin to bring home.
We ended the week with more football and "booing" our friends and neighbors.
It was nice having them home all week, but Adam told me that while he loved Fall Break, he was excited to go back to school. I asked him why and he said, "Cause I love school!"
