Summer of Fun-Week 9

We all know that I am a little addicted to taking pictures. Which would explain why I had about 1000 pictures on my phone from April up to July. My actual camera has at least double that amount of pictures from a shorter amount of time. My sd card on my phone was full of pictures, and so I started to clean some things up to make room for more pictures. Mistake!! All 1000 photos are gone. GONE!! I hate that sinking feeling in your stomach when you know you can't undo what you have just screwed up. Thankfully, there is a fairly happy ending to this story. I had previously backed up all the pictures on my phone, except for the pictures from last week. While I am sad to have lost those, I am very grateful that there was only a handful that I cannot retrieve. That being said, here is a look at our week and some of the fun things we did. Documented with an actual camera:)
For Make Something Monday, we made bird feeders to hang on our little trees. The kids have had fun all week watching the birds come and pick at them.

Monday night, our little family got to have an evening with Ma and Pa at their house. We had a nice dinner together and had a fun time playing and visiting. It was nice to have a couple of hours with them all to ourselves.
Uncle David played some rounds of baseball with Adam and Tessa before dinner.
Gwen had fun looking at pictures of herself on Ma's phone.

Ma made us some yummy salads for dinner and Pa grilled some delicious steaks. Tessa enjoyed a boring dinner of pizza rolls.

After dinner, we played a fun game of Kick-ball.
Then Ma and all 3 kids played hopscotch!

The gorgeous view of Timp from my parents front yard.
Gwennie enjoyed her very first s'more! She loved it!

We had fun roasting marshmallows, making s'mores and visiting in the backyard until the sun went down.

Tuesday morning, Tessa had gymnastics. She passed off all of her beam work this week. The balance beam is her best and favorite event. She's the best in her class on the balance beam!
That afternoon Ma watched Gwen while Adam, Tessa and I went and saw Aladdin at the Hale Center Theater. I had fun pictures of the kids before the show and afterwards with the cast, but sadly-those are some of the pictures that I lost. We had a great afternoon together and we loved being at the theater.
That evening after Daddy got home from work and we had dinner, we headed over to the carnival here in Spanish Fork for Fiesta Days. The kids have been so excited to go ride some rides.
Adam's first pick was a ride with cars. Poor Tessa kept wandering around looking for a ride that wouldn't make her sick. They seemed to have made all the slow rides go really fast. Even the carousel.
She finally found a boat ride that looked fairly tame. They had lots of fun ringing their bells over and over and over again and splashing the carnival worker that was helping with the ride. She started a water fight with them.:)
I took Adam and Tessa on my favorite ride!! The big slide has always been my favorite at fairs and carnivals. We got to the top and Tessa decided she didn't want to do it anymore. I forced her down and she liked it...sort of.

Then Daddy and Adam decided to race!

We had a fun evening spending some time out on the town.

For their last rides, Adam chose a berry-go-round. He jumped into a berry that was full of girls. Tessa chose an obstacle course with a big tube slide. She went down all by herself and was so proud!

On our way home, we stopped off for some shaved ice. We had colorful tongues by the time we had finished.
Wednesday morning the kids and I went to the Fiesta Days parade.
Gwen enjoyed a little pre-parade doughnut for breakfast.

The only reason we made it through the parade-they got so much candy thrown at them!
Getting a high five from one of the police officers.
Collecting more candy....
By far, the best part of our parade this year was the Army of Helaman. Our area recruited 2000 young men to march and it was an awesome sight to behold. They sang the song "We'll Bring the World His Truth" as they march and it was powerful. Even cooler was behind the 2000 young men were all of our missionaries. It was awesome!

Tessa's gymnastics group was in the parade!
Go cougars!

Aunt Jodi was helping out with pre-parade stuff, so she came and sat with us for most of the parade. We were happy to have her with us!
Teddy Elephant has been coming everywhere with us lately and Tessa refused to put down her crackers for a picture.
Gwennie had fun dancing to all the music.
Since Wednesday was Pioneer Day, after we got cleaned up from our parade filth, we did a few pioneer activities.

We made candy covered wagons.

We played the stick pull game. Tessa was surprisingly good at this!
And we made rag dolls again this year. Adam has been asking me for weeks when we would do this again. I'm glad they remembered it from last year.

We spent a fun evening with family at Maggie and Scott's house. We played, visited and had a delicious dutch oven dinner, thanks to Dad and Maggie.

Annie and Tessa painting their nails.
Thursday we declared a lazy day! Adam spent most of his day playing wii sports.
The girls and I made some playdough!

Adam and Tessa decorated some rocks for our family outing on Saturday.
That night Daddy and the kids had some fun playing a few card games.

Tessa's victory dance.
Friday we met up with some friends at BYU to feed the ducks. We had a fun time visiting, chasing ducks, and watching the turtles. I lost these pictures too.
Saturday was a super fun day!! We drove high up into the Uintah Mountains and found a Fairy Forest.
Adam and Tessa have been so excited to do this all week. Tessa dressed for the occasion. Adam is carrying their fairy rocks in his box.
We were so lucky and found the Fairy Forest! They were almost giddy with excitement!

People that visit the Fairy Forest will decorate rocks to leave for the fairies. Adam and Tessa were excited to leave their rocks too!

Gwen just liked to pick up rocks and throw them.
Some rocks are pretty funny and very clever. We had fun walking around and seeing what other people had left.

They found a fairy house, but were disappointed to find that no one was home.

Gwen chilling on a fairy throne.

Another fairy house with little fairy laundry hanging out to dry.

Adam found a tree saxophone.
One of our favorite finds! Very cute!
Fairy checkers!

Tessa found a Fairy Guard rock.

Gwen sounding the fairy alarm!
Gwen was so happy to find a Mickey Mouse rock!!

We found the Fairy Saloon
Adam spotted what he called, Fairy Decoys.
We found Fairytropolis!
Tessa found Tinkerbell's hideout.
Going into another fairy yard.

Tessa thought this is where the fairies must have their meetings.
Smurf rocks! Tessa LOVES the Smurfs!
We thought the fairies must be getting ready for a fairy wedding.
A fairy bowling alley
Adam and Tessa found the Fairy Disco! They gave it a try.

Adam looking for more fairy hideouts.

We found the Fairy Theater. They had been watching The Sound of Music cause that is what was on the rock screen. Until Gwen sat down and destroyed the Fairy Theater.....
So charming and magical!

Heading home
We had fun crossing all the giant rocks. We were grateful the creek didn't have any water in it!

Thankfully I still had many pictures to help tell the story of our week. It was a very fun week, full of many new memories for all of us!
