Last week was filled with more fun activities that put smiles on these kids faces.
Monday we met the Riley's at the Splash Pad for some water fun. The kids are in that picture somewhere. They played for hours and had a ball!
Tuesday, we headed up to the new Living Planet Aquarium and spent a couple of hours there. Tessa went with Ma and Pa back in April, so she acted as our little tour guide, making sure to show us all of her favorite animals. Gwen was a bit freaked out by everything at first. I had to reassure her at each exhibit that everything was behind glass.
Adam and the octopus
The shark tank was pretty cool and totally freaked Gwen out.
Tessa spent a good 15 minutes reuniting with all of her Sting Ray friends that she made in April. She even remembered all the names that she gave them.
We loved the penguins!
Adam was the bravest of the 3 and crossed the balcony on a huge rope bridge. Gwen tried it, but her feet kept getting stuck in the rope.
We swung by Daddy's work to say a quick hello and then went to In-n-Out for a fun lunch.
Early morning cartoon watching in Mommy and Daddy's bed.
Wednesday, all three kids got to go to Mommy's doctor appointment to see how Baby Caleb is doing. This was Adam's first time hearing the heartbeat and he was so excited!
Mommy had some things to get done around the house on Wednesday, so Adam and Tessa decided to make their own Lego movie. They spent most of the afternoon building their scenes and then they started writing the script. They are about 3 pages into it and I told them I would post it when they finished.
This is one their main scenes-Bear Lake.
Once they have everything finished, I will post about their city. To sum it up briefly, they have a Princess shop, a hat store, a hospital, a jailhouse, an Aquarium, an airport, a Mayor's office and apartment buildings.
Thursday we were back to the Library for Story Time and Science Club. Gwen liked the snowman craft this week.
Tessa went all decked out in her princess garb and then realized that wearing high heels wasn't as fun as she thought. She couldn't keep up with the other two.
I didn't get any pictures, but Thursday evening we spent a time playing in the backyard while we waited for Daddy to get home from a late night at work. Mommy and Adam played catch until Daddy got home and took over for Mommy. It ended up raining that evening and the boys had a fun time playing catching the rain.
Friday afternoon was spent at the park. On of the brag tags the kids can earn is to take a picture of a pig at a park with them. So Adam and Tessa took their pig pictures while we are there. Both Adam and Tessa are trying to master the Monkey Bars. They are having a hard time getting past the 2nd bar. I'm convinced Gwen will have this mastered long before they do!
Gwen loves to swing and would spend hours doing so if we could. I would love nothing more than a swing set in our own backyard!
Friday night was a fun night for the kids. Daddy got home from work and had a fun backyard camp out with them.
We build a fire and made yummy tin foil dinners. Except Tessa who had her normal cheese quesadilla.
Daddy brought out his head lamp and invented Robot Tag to play with the kids. They thought this game was so fun and we laughed so hard at Gwen who loved being the robot.
She chased everyone saying, "I am a robot".
Dog piles on Daddy!
Then it was Daddy's turn to be the robot.
Mommy was there too:)
After we cleaned up dinner and played Robot Tag, we built the fire back up and made S'mores.
Before bed, they did some star gazing with their new favorite star gazing app. My how times have changed.
They were excited to find several constellations and planets. Tessa found the Big Dipper all by herself!
Everyone got snuggled into the tent and we said goodnight (after Mommy blinded them with a picture). Once Mommy was back inside, Gwen decided she was too scared of monsters to sleep outside and ended up sleeping with Mommy.
She crashed as soon as her head hit the pillow.
Since it was Daddy's first official weekend off from school, we spent all of Saturday doing yard work and taking care of car repairs. That didn't leave us any time to get out and do anything fun, but we watched some of the World Cup, went sample surfing at Costco (the kids favorite thing to do at Costco) and they spent the evening swimming in the backyard.
Overall-another successful week of summer vacation!
