Swimming Lessons

Swimming lessons ended last week. The kids were very disappointed, and I was grateful. They wore me out and I don't really enjoy swimming when it's only 60 degrees outside. But we sacrifice for our kids, right?
We were surprised and grateful to find Aunt Dee waiting for us on the last day of lessons. She had brought her camera to take picture of the kids. I was especially grateful, because I couldn't take pictures since I was in the pool with Tess.
Since it was the last day of classes, the kids got to play a little more than usual.

I swear my kids would live in the water if I let them. They have no fear and love being in a pool!

Tessa learned how to jump in the pool and Adam is working on his breast stroke.

The last couple days of classes, Adam's teacher let his class start jumping off the diving board. I had a hard time not being in control of that situation (I am working on letting him go....). Adam LOVED it! Dee got some video of Adam jumping, but the blog won't upload it. It was hit favorite part of swim lessons this year! Thanks Dee for taking pictures for us!

10 weeks!

Baby #3 is on its way and due in January! We are so thrilled!! It has been a long and at times very frustrating year and a half as we have tried getting pregnant. I had my first doctors appointment this week and we heard the baby's heartbeat. It was good and strong! Adam and Tessa are anxious to find out if it's a brother or sister. I feel sick and very tired, but overall pretty good. I am huge already! I feel like I am 4 or 5 months pregnant. Hopefully I will still be able to walk by the end of December:) We feel so blessed to have another child come to our family and although the lessons were difficult at times to learn, I am grateful for the challenges we have faced and the opportunity we had to have our faith increased.
Tessa loves to kiss the baby!
10 weeks along!

Tessa's Photo Shoot

Yesterday I told Tessa to get her shoes on so we could leave for swimming lessons. She came down in her snow boots. It made me laugh, so I had to take a picture. As soon as I started taking her picture, she started posing. After every click of the camera, she quickly found a new pose and was pretty disappointed when I said it was time to stop. Adam was laughing so hard he could hardly breathe. Silly kids!

RIP Patio Table:(

Four years ago we got this patio table and chairs when we bought our house in Roy. We were so excited to use them and have lots of family dinners in our huge backyard. We moved a couple of weeks later and never got to use it while we lived in Roy. The patio set made the next 4 moves with us, living in storage units and garages because we had no yard or patio.
We were thrilled when we moved to our current house because it has a wonderful backyard with some patio space for our little patio set.
We finally got to use it for the first time last weekend! I rushed home from work on Saturday evening, we fired up the grill and had a lovely family dinner outside.
So imagine our devastation on Monday night when we discovered this......
There was a wicked windstorm on Monday! While we were out, the wind demolished our little patio table, along with the rest of our backyard! It looked like a disaster zone. Our table landed in our little garden and it shattered into a million pieces. We are pretty bummed. At least we got to use it once, right?

Tessa's Creation

A few nights ago Eric and I were outside playing baseball with Adam. Tessa had gone inside the house because, heaven forbid, there were bugs outside! This girl does not like bugs at all! However, she does think Tickle Bugs are cute. She is picky about her bugs. Anyway, she had gone inside after seeing a bee in the distance.
When we all went into the house for the night, she said, "Look what I made Mommy! A dinosaur flower!" She had taken several of Adam's dinosaur toys and hung them by their tails from our magazine table. It is hard to tell from the picture, but up close and personal, it did indeed look like a dinosaur flower. Way to be creative Tess!

Adam's Birthday Week!

This past week has been a busy one for our Adam! He tuned 5 on the 25th and has had a lot going on! It has been one big birthday celebration!
Since I am trying to win "Mother of the Year" award this year (just kidding), I made Adam his favorite breakfast the morning of his birthday. Homemade cinnamon rolls and pears. It was all worth it when he exclaimed, "This is the best day ever!" That's pretty good for 7:30 AM!
He got to spend the morning grocery shopping with me and then spent the afternoon doing what he loves the most...riding his bike!
This is what they usually look like when they are outside. Tessa asks Adam if she can run behind him while he rides. She does her best to keep up!
Since he turned 5, that meant he got to go out for his birthday dinner. We went to Brick Oven and he had a hard time deciding between two of his favorite dinners, pizza and bowtie pasta. The pizza won!

He thought it was cool to have the waiters and waitresses sing to him and he loved his dessert! As you can see, he couldn't eat it fast enough!
That evening he got to open a couple of presents. He loved his new "mountain alligator"!
Sunday night we had the families over for a Curious George birthday party! Adam LOVES Curious George!
He was spoiled rotten!
He blew out all 5 candles on his George cupcakes and then filled up on his most favorite dessert. A banana split!
We love having our cousins come and play!
Adam and Ellie

Tuesday was his visit with the doctor to get his check up and shots. He did really well and is so excited to start Kindergarten! He brought Teddy Elephant along to help him be brave.
To finish off our crazy birthday week, last night Adam started baseball! This boy would play baseball all day if his mom and dad had that kind of stamina. Here he is in his new team shirt and hat!
Last night he and daddy got to practice catching and throwing.
(I got to chase Tessa.)

He practiced his batting, some running drills, and they got to throw balls at his coaches face to practice his aim. That is one nice coach if you ask me! We laughed as not one ball actually got to the guys face.
He loved every minute of it and as soon as it was over, started asking when we are going back. It was so cute to watch 15 five year olds do the same goofy things. It will be a fun 4 weeks for him!
Happy 5th Birthday Adam!

Memorial Day 2011

We had a very cool opportunity this Memorial Day. Eric's great uncle, Wendell Twelves, was honored at the Hill Air Force Museum for his military service. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame and a beautiful ceremony was held in his honor. It was raining outside and sadly my camera's were not cooperating, so I didn't get as many pictures as I would have liked.

The cousins had fun running around together!
I was so happy for Aunt Rhea and her family. I have a soft spot in my heart for Aunt Rhea. She was my Relief Society buddy for the first year and half after Eric and I got married. She is such a sweet lady!!

Our darling nephew Zeke! He is too cute for words!
