Conference Weekend

We had  a wonderful Conference weekend at home! It was nice to take some time off from life and listen to the wonderful messages from our Prophet and leaders. The kids have been so excited for Conference as we have planned what fun foods we were going to eat and as they watched me get all of their Conference activities ready.
Adam and Tessa waiting for Conference to start and enjoying our yummy Saturday morning breakfast.
I started something new this year. I put key words for the kids to listen to on little bucket and then filled them with different treats and snack foods. It was a hit and I think we have a new tradition.
Playing Conference Bingo
Saturday evening we headed up to my parents house to hang out during Priesthood session. When we got there, Ma and Pa had some Easter surprises waiting for the kids and the Easter Bunny had set up an egg hunt in the backyard for them.

They had so much fun hunting for eggs. The Easter Bunny left LOTS for them to find!

Uncle Ben helped Tessa get the eggs high in the tree.

Counting all their loot

Adam had fun over the 2 days of Conference filling up the Apostles chairs when it was their turn to speak to us. Both kids can tell us all 15 names in the right order!
Between sessions on Sunday, Daddy took a siesta and Adam and Tessa read stories. Adam loves to read to Tessa now! He reads everything he can get his hands on.
As the end of Conference drew near, the kids decided to play dress up and we were greeted by this Cougar Pirate. I love watching their imaginations at work.
We love General Conference and are thankful for the messages we heard and the family time we were able to have this weekend.

Princess Lessons

Tessa came downstairs all dressed up the other morning. I asked her what she was doing and she replied, "I'm going to teach Gwen how to be a princess." I guess you're never too young to learn:)

Festival of Colors

Saturday I took Adam to the Krishna temple festival of colors.   There were hundreds of people and just walking on the street to the temple we got pelted with colored "chalk".
At 1:00 pm they did a countdown and people threw the colors into the air.  The rest of the time though everybody was throwing color on each other and even on random strangers.  It was a lot of fun.

Adam had a bandanna and safety glasses to keep "chalk"out of his mouth and eyes.  He was fine though because it wasn't chalk.  It was more like flour and was soft and very fine.
Since Adam's head wasn't covered with a hat his blonde hair become a favorite target of people around us.

We each had a different color.  Adam was Green, Katy was Pink, Matt was Purple,  Briette was Yellow and I was Orange

Adam thought it was super cool because he's
normally supposed to stay clean but that day he was
expected to get as messy as possible.  He loved it!

Adam had color in just about every nook and cranny.  He apparently got pelted real good behind his right ear with some pink.

This is a pic of us leaving.  It was a surreal scene because to the right there was a long line of  multicolored people leaving and to the left a long line of clean white shirts ready for the next color throwing.

We decided to take my car because it is a beater and I figured the color could only improve it.
It was a fun day

City Creek!

We (ok, Mommy) has been so excited for City Creek to open in Salt Lake City. It has been exciting to see it come to life over the last 10 years and see how much Salt Lake has changed since Daddy and Mommy were kids. We headed up to Salt Lake Friday afternoon after Adam was finished with school. We were not disappointed! City Creek is beautiful and we had so much fun walking around and checking out all the new sites of downtown.
Tessa, Daddy, and Adam in front of the big fountain.
Mommy was excited to see the new Tiffany's store! We didn't think the kids would care, but as soon as Tessa saw those sparkly diamonds, she was mesmerized! She wouldn't leave the store until she had seen everything. I think we might be in trouble!

We got to see a water show on the fountain.
The crowds made it feel more like Disneyland. We even waited in a line to get into the Disney store.
Gwen was a bit traumatized by it all.
The kids loved the Disney store and got to do some coloring while we were there.
As we were leaving we came across this pretty statue. Adam went to stand by it to have his picture taken with it, when it grabbed him and wouldn't let go!! We waited for several minutes while the statue just kept pulling Adam closer and closer. Every time he tried to leave, the statue pulled on him tighter. He thought it was hilarious and laughed SO hard!

Then Tessa got a turn! She liked hanging out with the funny statue.
We had a fun family day and were happy to be apart of Utah history.

11 Weeks Old

I love watching her sleep! Her hands always make us laugh. She is such a cute baby!!!!

BYU Gymtastics!

Last night we took the kids to see some BYU Gymtastics! (That's what Tessa calls it.) We had so much fun! I am dying to put Tessa into Tumbling, but will probably wait another year. It was fun to cheer for our Cougars and get out as a family.
Tessa insisted on taking her pom poms to cheer the gymnasts on.

We love our BYU football and basketball, but it was fun taking the kids to see my sport. We are super excited for the Olympics this summer!
Adam and Tess were SO happy to find Cosmo! He scooped both of them up and had some fun with them!
