I just realized that I never posted pictures from our pumpkin carving party. I thought I would show these off before I started putting Christmas pictures up. We had a fun evening carving pumpkins a couple of days before Halloween. All 3 pumpkins turned out really cute!

Veterans Day Assembly
Today for Veterans Day, the 2nd Graders had a special assembly. Some of the students were able to invite some of their family members who are Veterans to come and share some of their experiences from serving in the military. Adam asked his Uncle Danny to come and was so thrilled when Danny said he could be there. Adam literally prayed for 3 days that Danny would be able to come. Danny told the kids about the places he has been as a soldier and some of the things he experienced while he was gone. He encouraged the kids to write letters to our soldiers because he always liked receiving letters while he was away from home.
Adam was so excited when it was Danny's turn to talk!
We have a special place in our hearts for those who serve our country. We've had grandpa's and uncles who have served our country and thankfully made it home safely. We are so proud of them and are thankful for their example and sacrifice!!

Hiking the Y
For months Adam has been asking when we could hike the Y again. We waited for a Saturday when Eric could go, and between school, work, family and weather, we had to put it off until the beginning of November. But, it finally happened and that's what matters! Mommy stayed home with the girls and Adam and Daddy went on their adventure. Eric said just like last year, Adam talked the whole way up the mountain. They made it to the top and had a fun morning together!

A Happy Halloween!
The big day finally arrived! These kids were so excited for Halloween this year! On Monday, we made some candy corn decorations.
Tuesday night for dessert, we had vampire doughnuts.
Thursday we had lots going on! Mommy got to help with Tessa's class party and then watch the Kindergarten Parade. It was chilly and breezy, so the kids had to hold on to their hats!

Tessa the Witch
We went back to the school later in the day for the Halloween Parade. Adam dribbled his ball through the whole parade route.
After an afternoon of playing with friends and a dinner of Oozing eyeball spaghetti, we ventured out for some trick or treating. Their buckets got so full! I still can't believe how much candy they have. Gwen wouldn't let anyone carry her or her bucket, but by the end of the night, she could hardly hold it. She was adamant that she was the only one to carry it though.
They will be eating candy for months!
We came home and watched Monsters University while they pigged out on their candy. A perfect Halloween!

Star Students!
These cute kiddos are loving school and doing so well! We had Parent/Teacher Conference last week and both of their teachers had nothing but good things to say about them.
Mrs. Hales showed me some of Tessa's work and she said Tessa is doing very well on all of her work and her reading is above where she should be. She said Tessa is very smart and she can tell we do a lot of work together at home. (Hallelujah! My work pays off!) Mrs. Hales also said she is so glad to have Tessa in her class and that she is so helpful, respectful, and polite.
Mrs. Woodhouse told me she is a little concerned about Adam....in a good way. She said she has to prove that he advanced by the end of the year, but he is already so advanced for 2nd Grade, she's not sure how she is going to prove that she actually taught him anything. She said he is amazingly smart and everyone who reads with him is blown away at how well he reads. She said he is reading at a middle fourth to early 5th grade level. He loves math and has scored 100% on every math and spelling assignment/test they have had so far this year. Mrs. Woodhouse also said she is so happy to have Adam in her class and that he is also so polite, respectful and helpful.
I am so proud of my little students and am so grateful that they love to learn and love school so much!
