Our Brave Little Tessa

Tessa had a bad fall on Monday night and suffered a pretty nasty injury involving her girly parts (to put it nicely). After spending a night with her screaming in pain, we went to see the doctor. He got a good look at her and thankfully said it didn't look like anything needed to be repaired. She is VERY swollen and has 2 cuts on two different parts of her tissue. We have her on some pain medication and some medication to help with her urinating. The main concern right now is her not urinating due to the pain and adding additional bladder issues to our already painful problem. She was very happy to see the doctor. She has never been to the doctor except for her well child check up's, so she thinks going to the doctor is fun. She refused to let me look at her injury, but insisted she would let the doctor. She was true to her word and let the doctor do a thorough examination.
As of now, we are just keeping on top of her pain, trying to get her to pee as much as possible, and keep her resting. I have bribed her with lots of soda, so that makes her happy! Hopefully from all of this, she will learn that sitting on a chair on top of a table is not a good idea.

Happy Birthday Eric!

This past Thursday Eric turned the big 31! We had a small birthday party here at home with the family. The kids helped me decorate the house and I made him a special shrimp dinner. He also got his traditional praline and caramel cheesecake.
Tess helped me put 31 candles on his cake.

He got some fun presents! He got a new bike and a water bottle and helmet to go with it. Adam also gave him a football for their backyard games.

 He got all 31 candles!
On Friday we headed up to my parents house for another party. Eric has been joking for weeks that he is getting  me a new hub cap for my birthday. My siblings beat him to it and picked one up off the side of the road for him.
Adam helped Eric read all of his birthday cards.
 He got some new tools.

On Saturday we took the whole family out for Eric's traditional birthday meal at Tucanos. Adam loved it! Tessa loved the lemonade. Good thing she was free....
Happy Birthday Daddy!! We love you!!

Gwen's Blessing

Yesterday was Gwen's Blessing. It was a wonderful day for our family. Eric gave  her a beautiful blessing and we were so thankful to our family and friends who came to participate in her blessing and spent the day with us! Gwen looked beautiful in her dress. She didn't cry during her blessing, but cried pretty much the rest of the day. She was pretty out of sorts yesterday.

The poor thing was not excited about any pictures all day long.
 I still can't believe I have 3 kids!

The most difficult part of the day was getting pictures, let alone any good pictures. Oh well....

 Daddy and Gwen
 Mommy, Gwen and Ma-3 generations
 Gwen and her Pa
 Gwen with Ma and Pa
 Gwen with Mamma and Bampa
Gwen with Uncle Ryan
Gwen with Gammy (her Great Grandma)

 Gwen with cousin Amie
Tessa wanted to lay like Uncle Andrew
 Cute Sisters
Poor little Gwen was worn out by the early evening and fell into a deep sleep with her hands straight out in front of her!
To finish off her big week, Gwen had her 2 month check up with Dr. Bartholomew this morning. She is a healthy 10 lbs 9 oz and 21 inches long. The doctor said she is perfect! And we think so too!

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss

Today we had fun celebrating the birthday of the very creative, Dr. Seuss. We love this day at our house and had lots of fun doing different Dr. Seussy things.
All week long we have had fun reading all of our Dr. Seuss books!
This morning we had our traditional Green Eggs and Ham for breakfast. This year I threw in a new element...the cat's hat with fruit. Adam loved it, Tessa politely declined.

She gobbled up her green eggs though!
We played Dr. Seuss Hot and Cold. Adam is hiding a picture of "The Cat in the Hat" for Tessa to come and find. (Adam made his hat at school. They had a Dr. Seuss read-a-thon and he got to take his pillow and favorite Dr. Seuss book to school with him. He said it was a lot of fun!)
We made a fun lunch...the cat's hat again in pizza form.

We played a Dr. Seuss matching game.
We worked on our rhyming words and wrote poems like Dr. Seuss did. Here is one Adam and Tessa composed and Adam wrote down.

We made Cat in the Hat faces on paper plates and hand print "Thing One" and "Thing Two"
Our final activity was requested by Adam. Last year he loved when we made Oobleck, so we made it again this year. It did not disappoint!
Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!!!

Our Day At The Dentist

Yesterday we spent lots of time at the dentist office. I had an appointment in the morning and then the kids had appointments in the afternoon. Adam and Tessa have literally been counting down the days for 2 weeks! They have been so excited to go. It was Tessa's first time at the dentist office. When we pulled up she whispered, "Mommy, I'm a little nervous". She did great and they all thought she was super cute!

Tess thought the TV on the ceiling was super cool!
The Hygienist told Tessa that she was going to put a necklace on her. Tessa grinned so big and again whispered, "I love necklaces!"

Each kid has 20 teeth (which they thought was super awesome) and we are all cavity free!!
Gwen was a good girl and slept through their appointment.
