Day 10
I "wheelie" like playing with you!
Each of the kids got a new car to race.
We played some rounds of Valentine's Don't Eat Pete!
 Day 11
You're the "Apple" of my eye!
The kids got some apple and orange juice.
 Day 12
You're O'fishally great kids!
They got goldfish crackers to share.

We made some heart necklaces. Tessa made a necklace for her favorite Teddy Bear, Ted.

 Day 13
I love you "Beary" much!!
Teddy Grahams! Tessa couldn't be torn away from Tom and Jerry for a picture and Gwen was to interested in the bears on the box to look up.
We made our favorite sugar cookies and had fun decorating them.
Gwen loves cookies! (We love her crazy hair!)

Tessa said this was her new princess pose.

Happy Chinese New Year!

Last night, we celebrated the Chinese New Year. It is the year of the Snake, so when Adam got home from school, we made some dragon masks and some snakes out of toilet paper rolls. We had fun decorating them and naming them. Both snakes got to join us for dinner.

For dinner we had some Lo Mein, Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry, sweet and sour chicken, and fortune cookies for dessert. Adam and Tessa were so excited to use chopsticks at dinner. Daddy gave Adam a quick lesson before we started eating.

Adam did pretty good picking up the bigger pieces of food. Tessa did her own thing and had us all laughing. Whatever works, I guess! (And notice her plain noodles with parmesan cheese on the side. That's our Tessa Boo.)

Valentine's Day Countdown

Day 6
"You color my world with happiness!"

For our activity on day 6, we made kiss rings. They wanted to make one for each finger and then spent the afternoon telling each other to kiss their rings. Weirdos! But I'm glad they had fun with them.
 Day 7
"You make life a little sweeter!"

On Thursday, we made our favorite giant kiss out of rice krispy treats to have for dessert that night. They wasted no time tearing into it when it was time!

 Days 8 & 9
"You make my heart glow" (glow sticks)
and
"You're a great catch! So glad I have you!"
Friday's activity was writing love notes on our bathroom mirrors. A fun surprise for Daddy to find when he got home from school on Saturday night.
For Saturday's activity, we got valentine's ready for their classmates. Adam gave everyone in his class a Star Wars valentine and a pack of Kool-aid, and Tessa gave everyone in her class a Cinderella valentine and a bag of popcorn. They put their bags together while they watched the always romantic "Return of the Jedi". I guess Han and Lea do kiss, so that counts for something.

Gwen was so helpful, as you can imagine!

All ready for Thursday!

Valentine's Day Countdown

Last Friday, we began our Valentine's countdown. We have activities for each day leading up to Valentine's Day and this year the kids have been waking up to find a new Valentine's treat each morning.
Day 1
"Hope your day is Marvelous and Magnificent just like you!!"
The kids found M&M's waiting for them and our activity for the day was to heart attack someone. I gave the kids the option of heart attacking anyone they wanted to-grandparents, friends, teachers, etc. They both wanted to heart attack Gwen. So sweet. After school, we got busy cutting out hearts and they covered Gwen's crib. They were so excited to show her what they had done.

Day 2
"You blow me away!"
New bubbles were waiting for all 3 kids and we kept it easy and watched, "Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown".
 Day 3
"Life is a circus with you around! Full of fun and lots to do....I love you!"
Sometimes our house is like a circus, so the kids found Animal Cookies to share.
Our activity was to play a heart matching game.

 Day 4
"Have a ball today!"
They got a new ball set to play with and we made heart pies for dessert.

 Day 5
"I love you more than chocolate...and that's a lot!"
Mommy decided to change today's plans and we read some Valentine's stories instead of doing our craft. We had 11 kids at our house today, so Mommy was a little burned out.

Groundhog Day

Adam was excited to hear the prediction from Puxsutawney Phil Saturday morning. I had a fun breakfast waiting for them when they woke up that morning. The kids loved them!
Hooray for an early spring!!!
