Spring Break 2013

We had a fun and busy spring break! This week has made us very anxious for summer!
Monday was chore and laundry day. We made our list of things we wanted to do this week.
Tuesday was a rainy day, so we made the best of it and built an awesome fort  in the living room.

While Gwen slept, we played some serious rounds of War and Uno.

Gwen had a big week. She is officially done nursing. She has done really well putting herself to sleep at night. Mommy has been in pain this week, so while I sat on the couch covered in heating pads, Gwen would sit next to me and we would read her favorite stories. She LOVES "5 Little Monkey's Jumping on the Bed".
Wednesday we finally had some sunshine, so we packed up a lunch and headed to the park. We spent some time playing baseball. Adam is getting ready for Coach Pitch to start next month.

We had a nice picnic and then went crazy on the playground. Gwen was all over everything!

Adam found some buddies from church to play with Tessa found her preschool buddy, Cooper. They ran around for an hour playing Darkwing Duck.

I followed Gwen around for about an hour while we patiently waited for a baby swing to open up. She loves to swing!

After the park, we drove down to Payson to check on our temple. It's coming along!
Thursday we headed up to Orem for some miniature golfing! I loved golfing with these two because they had no clue how to play. I heard lots of, "Yes!!! I got a hole in 15!!"

I surprised them with a fun lunch out at In-N-Out and then we headed to Ma's house to visit Aunt Katy who had her tonsils out this week.
 Gwennie loves her french fries!!
Earlier in the week, Adam found out that his favorite waffle truck would be in Spanish Fork on Thursday. He decided to add that to our list of things to do.

He helped me order our dessert that night and we all shared a delicious waffle from Waffle Love!

Friday was grocery shopping day-and I say day because it ends up being an all day event with kids in tow. Thankfully, Adam was a huge help with Gwen while we were at Walmart and I didn't leave the store in tears like I do most other shopping days. She thinks she should get to push the shopping carts and it always ends in both of us very frustrated and her screaming!
We waited for Daddy to get home to do our Costco shopping. The kids had been anxiously awaiting their Costco frozen yogurt.
This weekend we enjoyed another wonderful General Conference. The kids had a lot of Conference activities to do and first thing Saturday morning, they made their Conference crowns.
Tessa had to lead us all in the rest hymn.

They did a good job keeping track of when the Apostles spoke to us.
Adam is excited to go back to school and tell Mrs. Riley that he read over 7 hours this week (that's not counting the hours he read at bedtime every night). Tessa is excited to see all her preschool friends, and I am sad to have our fun week come to an end. We have big changes coming in the next 2 weeks. More on those soon....

Happy Easter!!

We had a very early Easter morning! The kids woke up earlier than they did on Christmas!

They were thrilled to see the Easter Bunny had left them some fun baskets and footprints all over the house.

They got some fun things this year-less candy and more books.

Adam got more basketball playing cards and the girls got some stuffed animals. They each got a pair of flip flops for the warmer weather that is hopefully on its way.

Adam checked to see what happened to their jelly beans and he found 2 bunny suckers!

 They wasted no time!
The Easter Bunny left some hidden eggs for them to find around the house. Tessa's eggs looked like lady bugs, Adam's eggs looked like sports balls, and Gwen's eggs were just different colors. They did a good job finding all of them-even Gwen.

She would not let go of that piece of candy in her hand!

 Then she found the peeps.....

My least favorite part of Easter Sunday-trying to get a good picture. Thankfully, they did really well and we got some good shots. They all looked so cute! I can't believe how big they all look. It makes me so sad to see my babies growing up so fast!
After the morning festivities, we had our traditional Easter breakfast and added our last picture of Christ to our Easter countdown. I am so thankful that we are able to teach our children the importance of and true meaning of Easter. I am humbled by their small, sweet testimonies of their Savior and am always so grateful for the week before Easter and the extra time we take as a family to learn more about our Savior. It brings such a wonderful spirit into our home.
After Sacrament Meeting, (Adam sang with his children's choir) we headed to Mamma and Bampa's house for a visit. We got to see Gammy, Matt, and Briette while we were there. Mamma had set up a little treasure hunt for the kids and they loved it!

Even Gwen wanted to help find the clues.

We spent the evening at Ma and Pa's house. It's Uncle Ben's last Easter with us for 2 years!

Uncle Ben and his nieces and nephews
Ares, Ben, Symphony, Adam, Gwen, and Tessa
We came home that night with some very worn out kids. It was a very happy Easter!
