A Very Happy Easter!

We had a wonderful Easter this year! Lots of activities and lots of candy!
We have spent the last week learning about the real meaning of Easter and how the Atonement and resurrection blesses our lives. It has been so special to teach the kids more about their Savior and have them ask questions about the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. I am so thankful for the gospel and that we have the opportunity to share our testimonies with the kids, even at such a young age.
Thursday night we dyed Easter eggs. They did a very good job and Adam was very proud of his "earth egg".

Saturday morning we got up early and headed to the Spanish Fork Easter egg hunt. Tess dressed herself (I am not allowed to pick out her clothes most of the time) and she looked like a colorful Easter egg herself!
Anxiously waiting.....
Adam took off....we totally lost him and it freaked me out! That is him in the red jacket.
The kids loved it! Even though they seemed to be the only kids that obeyed the 4 egg rule. It was a good, unplanned teaching moment. Gotta love those!
Easter morning brought baskets and an egg hunt. Since Utah weather will not cooperate this year, we did our egg hunt inside.

Our beautiful kids! We are so thankful for them!

Happy Easter!

Earth Day Week

We have had a busy week! Fun, but busy! Today is earth day and that is what we learned about during Mommy school this week.
We made the earth out of tissue paper.
We went to Uncle Ryan's puppet show at BYU. It had nothing to do with earth day, but it was very fun and Ryan did a great job!
We talked about how we can help take care of the earth. We made a recycling bin and a litter monster.

We walked around our neighborhood feeding our litter monster. They loved that!
To finish the week with something fun, I made the kids "Dirt" for dessert. I talked it up for 2 days with Adam and you should have seen the looks of disgust he gave me. He was a little less reluctant once he saw the gummy worms.

Eating their "worms" and "dirt"
Daddy even got in on some of the fun. He couldn't believe how real it looked. It was a fun way to end our Earth Week.
There is a lot more to post....stay tuned!

Dentist in Training

Last night I sent the kids upstairs to brush their teeth before bedtime. I went to check on how they were doing and found this....Adam was helping Tessa brush her teeth. He did a pretty good job! Maybe we have a future dentist on our hands.

Farm Week

We have had a fun week at Mommy School! We learned about farm animals. During General Conference (which was wonderful!), I made the kids this Old McDonald puppet show to play with. I gave it to them on Tuesday and they have been playing with it all week!
We also went on a field trip to Thanksgiving Point to see all the farm animals there. We spent most of the afternoon there and we loved it!
Tessa quickly made friends with the chicks
They loved the animals! The kids watched them so intently!
The favorite part of their day was the pony ride! The joy on their faces made me want to pack that night for Disneyland! If they get that excited over a pony ride, I can only imagine how fun Disneyland would be.

Tessa took this picture with the bunnies for little Uncle Ben

My favorite part of the afternoon was while we were looking at the sheep. One started to poop and Adam yelled, "Sick! It's pooping blueberries!!!" Hilarious!
As we were leaving, Tessa got to pet her new friend. She loved those chicks!
Other fun activities included making pictures with corn after we discussed different foods animals eat, reading some fun animal books, watching "Charlotte's Web", and making pig noses. It has been a fun week at our house!

Art

Adam has recently discovered his love for art. He loves to draw! He draws everything from cars to monsters. He loves to draw pictures about his lessons in church and he loves to draw the things around him. This picture is one he drew of our neighborhood. The big thing in the middle is our car. I finally had to have a heart to heart with him last week and explain that although we love his drawings, I cannot keep or hang every single one. At that point our fridge, our school room, his bedroom, Tessa's bedroom and our bedroom had been taken over by "Adam Art". I bought him a sketch pad so he could draw to his hearts content and know where all of his pictures were. Thankfully, he thought that was a fabulous idea. I am glad that he has discovered this interest. I love seeing his interpretation of things and his creativity come to life!
Tessa has also found a new favorite medium for her art....herself! Thank goodness for washable markers!
