Trunk or Treating

On Friday evening, we got to go Trunk or Treating at church. Eric was at school, so he missed seeing how cute these kids looked. Last year I missed it because I had to work. Someday we will all get to go together again. Aunt Katy was nice enough to come hang out with us. I put her on picture duty so I could walk around with the kids. Their costumes were a hit with both kids and adults. Gwen even wore her hat the entire time!
I am so happy with how their costumes turned out! They looked so darling!!

Gwen wasn't sure about those blue wigs.

Their blue hair made them easy to keep track of. I might make them wear their wigs next time we go to Disneyland!
 They got so much candy!

Tess wasted no time checking out all of her loot. She says Halloween is her favorite holiday. Why does that not surprise me?

Halloween Countdown

Day 8- Monsters
We made monster puppets and Halloween sugar cookies to go "Boo" our neighbors.
 Day 7-Vampires
It was a busy day, full of play dates and friends over, so we just made a fun dinner of our Oozing Eyeball Spaghetti.
 Day 6-Haunted House
We made some Haunted House pop out pictures.

We tried to make our house spooky for dinner and ate by candlelight. Gwen wasn't quiet sure about eating in the dark, but Adam and Tessa loved it and want to eat by candlelight every night now.
Day 5-Witches
We made witch hat cookies and had a hard time keeping them away from Gwen.
We also read our favorite witch books and watched the Wizard of Oz for family movie night.

 Day 4-Candy Corn
We played Halloween Bingo with candy corn.

Halloween morning is going to be busy, so we made our pumpkin pancakes for dinner on Sunday. Adam and Tessa love having breakfast for dinner!
 Day 3-Skeleton
We played "pin the face on the skeleton".
Poor Tess never got near the skeleton-she kept putting her face on the fridge or the wall.

 We made some q-tip skeletons.
 They turned out so cute!
Only 2 days left and these kids can hardly stand it. They cannot wait to go Trick or Treating!

Boys Night Out

Last night, Adam and Eric headed over to BYU to watch the Cougar Tip- off Game. We didn't tell Adam he was going until Eric got home from work. Adam was SO happy! This boy loves sports, but he LOVES basketball!! The Jazz play their first game on Halloween night and Adam keeps asking me if we can go trick or treating in the morning so he doesn't miss the game.

Baby Prison!

The other evening I was in the kitchen and realized I wasn't hearing any baby noises. I went to see what Gwen had gotten into and found her half way up the stairs. She had figured it out!
So, we have busted out her prison gate and she absolutely hates it! Especially if  Adam and Tessa are upstairs and she is trapped downstairs with mom. She stands at the gate and shakes it as hard as she can while she yells at the older kids. It is pretty funny to watch. I am glad she loves her brother and sister so much. Yesterday morning when Adam got out of the car to go to school, Gwen burst into tears. It was so cute! I can't believe how fast she is growing and how much personality such a little person can have.

Pumpkin Carving Party

On Sunday evening, we went over to Matt and Briette's new house for a pumpkin carving party. The kids had so much fun playing with their cousins and carving their pumpkins!
 Bampa with August and Gwen
For some reason Gwen does not like to be held or even looked at by the Nielson boys-including Bampa. She didn't cry when he held her on Sunday, but she would not look at him and she would not smile.
 Uncle Ryan and Baby August
I didn't get a picture of their finished pumpkins, but Adam carved a Cougar pumpkin and Tessa carved a face with a tongue sticking out.
Love Eric's face-he's trying to get Tessa to touch the pumpkin "brains".
 Aunt Angel and Zeke
 Ellie and Uncle Matt
Poor Gwen was wiped out and was fast asleep by the time we got home. She sleeps like her mommy:)
