Star Wars Marathon

On Saturday we started a new family tradition and had a Star Wars marathon! We were going to start first thing in the morning and go all day, but we decided to scratch that idea and just watch the 3 classics. We got the kids some Darth Vader masks and I made them lightsabers.
Adam, Tessa, and Ares
Even Gwen got in on the action!

We made a party of it and made lots of Star Wars themed food for the afternoon and evening.
 We had Ewok Food
 Padawan Popcorn
 Thermal Detonators
 Wookie Cookies
 Vader Veggies and Degobah Dip
 Princess Leia Cupcakes
 Adam eating some Thermal Detonators
 Ares, Tessa and Adam
 Yoda Soda
We even froze Han Solo in Jell-O carbonite
 Boba Fruit
Han burgers and Jar Jar links
It was a fun day! Fun to hang out with family, eat fun food, and watch some classic movies!

More Summer Fun

We have had another busy week. Last Sunday, Adam finished his first 500 piece puzzle! He worked on it for about an hour everyday for about 5 days. He did most of it himself and was very proud when he finished it!
We played milk carton catch. The kids made "catchers" out of milk cartons, and then spent some time outside playing catch with them.

Wednesday we had lots of cousins over to play! For a quiet afternoon activity after everyone left, we experimented with invisible ink.

Thursday was Flag Day, so we had some Flag Day fun! We made red, white, and blue pancakes for breakfast.

We learned all about Betsy Ross and our flag and Adam taught Tessa how to say  the Pledge of Allegiance.

We made a flag pizza for lunch and colored flag pictures.

Thursday night we had Eric's work barbecue. The kids had a blast getting their faces painted, playing on the bounce houses, shooting their rockets and eating lots of yummy food!

On Friday we made sidewalk paint, but ran out of cornstarch, so we didn't get to paint as much as we would have liked. We plan to do that more this next week. Tessa painted a sun and Adam painted a stadium.

Gwen's New Trick

Last week Gwen started rolling. I didn't know whether to be happy or sad. Adam and Tessa love watching her roll and cheer so loud every time she does it. She is only rolling from back to front, but at least it's a start.

I love how these pictures show how chunky she is! People just want to squeeze those chubby thighs!

Tessa's First Haircut

Tessa has been so excited for today to come for about 2 weeks now. Today she got her very first haircut! Ever! She's only almost 4...I figured it was probably time. Aunt Jodi got to do the honors and it turned out super cute!
 Here is Tessa's before shot
 She was so excited!!

Jodi "washed" her hair. (She really just rinsed it.)

Tessa is not known for holding still. She was a bit squirmy, so one of Jodi's fellow hair dressers let Tess play a game on her phone.

Jodi let Tess watch Dora on her phone. She was a happy girl!
Jodi totally pampered our princess! Her haircut turned out great and she looks darling! Adam was even impressed with how awesome her hair looks. He said, "Her curls look like tornado's!"
 Our Princess Tessa!
Thanks Aunt Jodi for a fun afternoon!
