Valentine's Week/Day 2015

Our Valentine's Activities were few and far between this year. We managed to do a few before Valentine's Day, but most of them we saved and had a little party on Valentine's Day afternoon.
One afternoon, we made Love Bugs. Adam and Tessa turned their bugs into animals. Adam made a Love Pig and Tessa made a Love Dinosaur.

Adam and Tessa spent some time a couple of days before Valentine's Day, preparing all their valentine's for their classmates. This year, Tessa gave out Dinosaur valentine's and Adam gave out Super Hero valentine's.
The kids woke up on Valentine's Day to our traditional breakfast-heart cinnamon rolls.
Tessa's festive hair-do.
We all went to shopping together at Costco. (Totally romantic!) on Saturday afternoon. Tessa wrote Mommy this Valentine note while we were waiting to check out.
After our shopping adventure, we had our party. The kids and Mommy made heart pies and heart pizzas. Adam and Tessa did most of the work and the food turned out great!

Gwennie mainly helped Daddy fix his bike and then insisted they go on a bike ride together. So they did.

While their food cooked, Adam and Tessa played an excited few rounds of Don't Eat Pete.
 Lunch Time!

Showing off all their Valentine's loot from school.

They got a special surprise in the mail! Cards and $2 from Ma and Pa!
We played some fun Valentine's games. Our favorites were Heart Lava and Musical Hearts! They had so much fun playing these silly games and they had Mommy and Daddy laughing so hard as they tried to do what the hearts instructed.

 Our Valentine's

We waited until Sunday to have our fancy Valentine's dinner with our china and candles. On Saturday, after the kids went to bed, Mommy and Daddy got some food and watched a movie. Nothing fancy, but it was nice to do something together, and Mommy even stayed awake for the entire movie!

BYU Ballet

On Friday, Mommy, Adam and Tessa got to go up to Salt Lake City to the Conference Center to see a beautiful Ballet by the BYU Ballet Company. They featured several different Fairy Tales-mainly stories with Princesses. It was a fun evening together and I loved introduce a new form of art to my kids.
We stopped at In-n-Out on the way up for some dinner. Adam had to have his Animal Style Fries.

During intermission, they invited all the little Princes and Princesses in the audience up on the stage to dance with the Ballerina's. Tessa bolted to the stage so fast, I didn't even have time to tell her where to go. You'll have to play "Where's Tessa" to find her in some of these pictures. She got on the stage and twirled and twirled. Then she went and found a Ballerina to dance with. When the song ended, she gave a beautiful curtsy to everyone in the audience. She had so much fun! Adam went up to the stage too, but just kind of wandered around all the girls. He was slightly out of his element without a ball to bounce.

We got to meet some of the Ballerina's after the show.

It was a fun night! I'm so glad we were able to go and make new memories together.

6 Months Old!

This adorable (and frustrating) boy turned 6 months old on Wednesday. He is constantly on the move or wiggling, so getting some good, clear pictures of him is becoming harder and harder. He loves to be on the go. We find him all over the house as he rolls everywhere now. We always laugh when we look over and he has managed to get himself into the kitchen. I have a feeling nothing will be safe once he is crawling. His new trick for this month is spitting. He recently discovered his tongue and now he blows raspberries non stop. He blew raspberries all through Sunday School on Sunday. While the people behind us though it was funny, it was mighty irreverent. I guess I really can't take him anywhere semi-quiet now either.
With his new trick comes new frustrations for Mom. Before, when he would fight me to eat (which was always), I could usually get the bottle shoved in his mouth. Now that he can spit, I just get the bottle and a mouthful of milk spit back in my face. It's great fun.
He continues to eat horribly. I finally took him to the doctor about a week ago for some advice and peace of mind. He drinks no where near the ounces he should and each feeding is a battle that usually takes at least an hour. I was worried about his weight, but thankfully, he had been gaining. Of course I think he can't eat any worse and then this week he has. So, so much for trying not to stress about it. His doctor wasn't overly concerned about his lack of fluid. He said Caleb is gaining weight and developing just fine, so for right now we don't need to worry. We did introduce carrots this week and he downed a jar of those with some rice cereal in like 10 minutes. I didn't know he could eat that fast! I guess we will look forward to giving him more solids since he seems to like those.
Despite his horrific eating habits, he continues to be the happiest baby. He loves to shriek (happy sounds) at the top of his lungs, play with his toys, get tossed around by Daddy, and if his siblings are anywhere near him, he wants to know what they're up to. He has also gotten very grabby. So bye bye jewelry for Mommy.
We are so grateful he is a healthy and happy 6 month old!
That tongue! His new favorite toy.

 Always moving!

He really has no hair, but for our babies, he has a ton for being 6 months old.
We love his crystal blue eyes.

Fire and Ice 2015

Yesterday we stopped by the Fire and Ice event at the Riverwoods. It was cool to see all the ice sculptures. What wasn't cool was our 65 degree weather, so the ice was melting quickly. Gwen was with Mamma and Bampa, so we didn't stay long because we needed to get her, but it was fun walking around and seeing the art and other fun displays that were there.

We had a beautiful sunset on our way home. Tessa begged for a picture of it.
 We love our beautiful Utah!
